The Rock has been on a long hiatus since WrestleMania 40 weekend!
The Rock made his WWE return earlier this year right from day one and had a full-time run, until WrestleMania 40 weekend. He was active throughout the road to WrestleMania and was a part of one of the greatest WrestleMania, despite twists, turns and character changes due to storyline changes.
Rock initially teased a feud with Roman Reigns, however, he aligned with Roman to feud against Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 and secured victory for The Bloodline at WrestleMania 40 Night 1. He also had his appearance at the WrestleMania 40 Night 2 main event in favor of Roman, but didn’t help his cousin to retain the championship.
The Rock then announced his temporary hiatus for an indefinite time at Raw after WrestleMania but promised to return later this year. It has been over five months and The People Champ hasn’t returned yet. At this stage, the backstage reports potentially revealed The Rock’s return timeline.
The Rock’s WWE return timeline
According to PW Nexus Discord paywall, there is a huge speculation inside WWE that The Rock could make his WWE return within the next month or two. Although this is just a rumor and not a confirmed announcement, the insiders hinted that Rock has a free schedule in the upcoming months.
A month ago during the SummerSlam weekend, The Hollywood NorthBuzz reported that The Rock’s ‘The Smashing Machine’ filming is officially wrapped up. Rock is playing the role of the former MMA Fighter Mark Kerr in the film and the shoots are done and the movie is expected to be released in 2025. Suggesting that he has some free dates in the upcoming months.
The Rock already is having an unfinished business with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, which is rumored to happen at WrestleMania 41. On the other hand, there is also a huge speculation that he could also be playing a major part in the Bloodline Civil War, which is expected to happen later this year at the Survivor Series PLE.
The rumors of the Survivor Series suggest that Roman Reigns’ original Bloodline will be facing Solo Sikoa’s new Bloodline in the WarGames match. Will Rock be a part of the match? If yes, which side will The Rock be? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
