Top five things Cody Rhodes can do on WWE SmackDown this week

Cody Rhodes won the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on Night 2 of WrestleMania 40 to end Roman Reigns 1316 day reign.

Since the title is exclusive for the SmackDown brand, The American Nightmare will make his return this week (April 12, 2024) on the SmackDown after WrestleMania 40. As Cody Rhodes is coming to WWE SmackDown, here are five things he can do on SmackDown this week.

5. Kick-off SmackDown

Rhodes could be kicking off the Friday Night SmackDown to address the WWE Universe and thank them for having his back. Cody could say, what kind of a champion he will be and what will be his next move with the championship. Cody could potentially be signing a deal with SmackDown or would change the look of the championship or retire the Universal Championship.

4. Cody Rhodes will find his challenger

Cody Rhodes could be confronted by his first challenger, against whom he will be defending his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. This could most probably be Kevin Owens, who was so close to winning the Universal Championship but got affected by the Bloodline. Now, he could challenge Rhodes for the title, without any interference from Bloodline.

3. Cody Rhodes will be attacked by The Bloodline

Cody Rhodes could be attacked by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa on SmackDown. The Bloodline’s attack could be the frustration of them defeating their Tribal Chief and taking the title from him. This could still continue the Bloodline & Cody Rhodes storyline, on a different track.

2. Paul Heyman will confront him

The WiseMan, Paul Heyman, could confront Cody Rhodes to deliver a message from the Tribal Chief. Heyman will show his disappointment of Cody defeating his Tribal Chief and would say that Roman Reigns will be coming for him and the title again soon, this time to end Cody’s story.

1. Roman Reigns will challenge him a re-match

Roman Reigns could return to SmackDown, and challenge Cody Rhodes for a rematch at the upcoming King and the Queen of the Ring PPV in Saudi Arabia. Since Roman is rumored to be a part of the Saudi show, the rematch for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship can most likely happen there.
