Top three things Cody Rhodes could do on WWE SmackDown (September 06, 2024)

Cody Rhodes will be live on 9/6 SmackDown holding the title surpassing 150 days!

Cody Rhodes is the current Undisputed WWE Champion, who has been holding the Undisputed WWE Championship since WrestleMania 40, by defeating Roman Reigns and overcoming the Bloodline.

The American Nightmare although came through the Bloodline, got targeted by the ‘New Tribal Chief’ Solo Sikoa.

Solo pinned Cody at Money in the Bank PLE and earned the Undisputed WWE title shot at SummerSlam in a Bloodline rules match. However Solo wasn’t able to win the title, due to Roman’s return. 

Solo then demanded a rematch at Bash in Berlin, but Cody neglected it and chose his friend Kevin Owens as his opponent, who he defeated in Berlin to overcome the 150-day landmark with the WWE title.

With Solo’s challenge being laid, Cody will be live this week on SmackDown to address the challenge. Ahead of the event, here we take a look at the top three things Cody could do on this week’s SmackDown.

3. Cody Rhodes accepts under one condition

Cody Rhodes could accept Solo’s challenge to defend the title on the line but with a condition. The last time when Cody defended his title on the line against Solo Sikoa, it was under the Bloodline rules as Solo laid the stipulation.

As that being said, Cody could lay the stipulation for their match this time. The American Nightmare could announce it as the final title shot for Solo, if Solo loses, he could no longer challenge for the title. This could set the stage for one of the great contests in the upcoming events.

2. Cody declines Solo & chooses Randy Orton

As Cody already declined the title shot to Solo in the fallout of SummerSlam asking him to earn the title shot. Cody might decline Solo’s challenge and could give the title shot to Randy Orton, similar to how he gave a title shot to Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin.

As Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes has been rumored for months, there is no better way to book the match between the two.

1. Cody Rhodes assaulted by Bloodline

Cody Rhodes could ask Solo Sikoa to stand in the line, saying that he doesn’t deserve a rematch. Which could make The Tribal Chief angry and send the Bloodline to destroy him.

The Bloodline has already assaulted Cody once with their numbers advantage, and they could repeat the same forcing the champ to accept the challenge.
