SmackDown went to Maddison Square Garden this week

WWE SmackDown presented an incredible evening from Madison Square Garden, complete with great matches and emotional storylines. Fans were in for an exciting night with The Bloodline’s Acknowledgement Ceremony, three heated Money in the Bank Qualifying Matches, and unexpected visits.

Here are the top three things we enjoyed and disliked about this week’s episode.

Loved: Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match

The women’s triple threat match between Naomi, Blair Davenport, and Indi Hartwell delivered high-energy action and showcased the talent of all three competitors. Naomi’s victory, aided by Jade Cargill’s interference, added an interesting layer to their rivalry. Despite some minor hiccups in chemistry, the match provided thrilling moments and established the women’s division as a must-watch.

Hated: Lack of follow-through on storylines

Several ongoing storylines were briefly touched upon but lacked substantial development. The buildup to certain rivalries seemed to fizzle out without meaningful progression. This lack of follow-through left some fans wanting more depth and continuity in the storytelling, which is crucial for maintaining engagement in long-term feuds.

Loved: Men’s Money in the Bank qualifying match

The triple threat match featuring LA Knight, Logan Paul, and Santos Escobar was a highlight of the night. With each competitor bringing their unique style and intensity, the match kept fans on the edge of their seats. The presence of NBA stars Tyrese Haliburton and Jalen Brunson added an exciting twist. LA Knight’s victory in WWE MITB, achieved by outsmarting Paul, was a satisfying conclusion, further fueling his popularity and momentum.

Hated: Overbooked segments

While the performance was plenty of excitement, other portions felt unnecessarily convoluted and crowded. The numerous interruptions and multiple run-ins, especially during the Bloodline’s first entrance and subsequent brawls, made key scenes feel chaotic and detracted from the overall story. Simplifying these aspects might improve the storyline and make critical moments stand out more clearly.

Loved: The Bloodline Segment

The show ended with high stakes as The Bloodline, now including Jacob Fatu, ended off the night with an Acknowledgment Ceremony. The tension was palpable as Solo Sikoa misled Paul Heyman about Fatu’s presence, leading to a dramatic reveal and confrontation. The new Bloodline’s dominance was solidified when they viciously attacked Heyman, showcasing their ruthless nature. This segment not only set the stage for future storylines but also left fans eager for Roman Reigns‘ response.
