The 9/13 episode of WWE SmackDown sets the seeds for several big rivalries!
WWE successfully hosted the September 13, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, United States. It was the season premiere of SmackDown and also marked the return of the blue brand to the USA network.
The show featured some of the big matches and also teased & booked several feuds on the show. Here are the top five feuds WWE sets the foundation on WWE SmackDown this week.
5. Chelsea Green vs Michin
Piper Niven faced Michin in a singles match on SmackDown. During the match, Michin attacked Chelsea Green with the Kendo stick and also picked up the win by pinning Niven.
Green got pissed off by Michin’s attack, resulting in Green delivering an Unpretty-her to Michin through the trash can. This sets the base for Green vs Michin in the upcoming events.
4. Nia Jax & Tiffany Stratton vs Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill
Nia Jax & Tiffany Stratton following the confrontation from Naomi and Bayley in the middle of the ring, went backstage to confront the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. Jax remembered them saying that she defeated both Belair and Cargill to become the Queen of the Ring.
She also warned them saying that it was her show and asked not to interfere in her business. With that, it seems like Jax and Stratton could also come after the tag team titles soon.
3. Nia Jax & Tiffany Stratton vs Bayley & Naomi
The WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax heard from Nick Aldis that she needs to defend her title on the line at Bad Blood. She warned the locker room saying that she would annihilate them if they stepped in the ring. Bayley confronted her and demanded a rematch for the title.
Tiffany Stratton interfered in favor of Jax and Naomi interfered in favor of Bayley, and also demanded a title shot. At this stage, Jax and Stratton challenged them to a tag team match next week, where if they manage to win Nia and Statton, they will get the rematch, but if Jax and Stratton win the loser will leave SmackDown.
2. Andrade vs LA Knight
Andrade faced Carmelo Hayes in a rubber match to end their rivalry with the lead. The WWE Speed Champion succeeded in his attempt to win the match and end the rivalry with a 3-2 lead. Following the match, LA Knight interfered with Andrade’s celebration and announced that Andrade would be the next challenger for the United States Championship. They are set to face each other with the US title on the line next week. Setting the foundation for a fresh rivalry in the blue brand.
1. Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns vs The Bloodline
The whole SmackDown season premiere was around the Bloodline storyline. In the opening contest, Cody Rhodes managed to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Solo Sikoa. However, the Bloodline invaded the cage to attack Cody until Roman Reigns returned and made the save.
This made Solo call for a match against Cody & Roman at Bad Blood. Cody & Roman regretted teaming with each other, however, the Bloodline’s attack in the final moments made them change their mind. They signed the contract and made their tag team match against Solo and Jacob Fatu official for Bad Blood.
