Triple H opens up about The Rock's return at WWE Bad Blood 2024; Kevin Owens attacks Cody Rhodes

The Rock made his return after Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes beat The new Bloodline in a tag-team match

The Rock returned to WWE in the last minutes of Bad Blood, his first appearance since April. The main event of Bad Blood saw Jimmy Uso return and assist Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes in defeating Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, with Roman Reigns pinning Solo Sikoa with a Spear to win the match.

The post-match hijinks saw Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso defend Cody from a Bloodline beatdown, and the pay-per-view appeared to be over until The Rock’s theme song filled Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.

The Rock eventually left the fans wanting more, merely looking at Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes from the entrance ramp before raising his characteristic eyebrow and signalling ‘1-2-3’ with his fingers to the ring, referring to his pinfall victory over Cody at WrestleMania 40.

After the match-up Triple H addressed the post-show conference where he spoke on how he felt for The Rock making his return back to WWE.

Triple H said, “You have to be the biggest star in the world, to be able to hit your music, walkout, blow the roof off the place & ‘I’m out’. And it’s epic & it was. Thankful to him for everything he got going in his career and his life. To never have looked away from what brought him to the dance and what his roots are. It’s in his DNA, it’s in his blood, it’s who he is and anytime that we are in a place that he can take 30 seconds out of his incredible schedule to comeback and feel that electricity, that you can only get in WWE & he does it. I’m thrilled for that & thankful to him for that.”

Triple H later also added, “I think the key word there was ‘as he pleases’. The Rock’s The Rock and he’s going to be able to do – I think you saw that last time the Final Boss was here – that whether we were on the air, off the air, still rolling cameras, not rolling cameras, he kinda does what he wants to do when he wants to do it. That’s the cool thing about being the Final Boss I think. He’s The Rock, he can do what he wants to do.

“Having The Rock in your quiver is pretty cool. Embarrassment of riches, we have so much stuff, and when you have a moment like that with The Rock, it’s wonderful to see. And where does it go from here? God it could go anywhere, and that’s the beauty of it.

“When we get done tonight, you kind of tell all these epic stories that land you in one place and then you go, ‘Oh yeah, but now what?’, that’s really cool. That’s where we want everybody to be.”

The Rock’s return shouldn’t come as a shock as fans anticipated his return. The Rock returned to WWE in January 2024, and it was shortly reported that he had been appointed to the TKO board of directors.

The Rock then joined The Bloodline and was set to battle Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 40, but WWE modified their plans to Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

The Rock continued to wrestle, teaming with Reigns against Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event of WrestleMania 40 night one, pinning Cody Rhodes to win the match. Dwayne Johnson then approached Cody on Raw following WrestleMania 40, with sources indicating that Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock will be the headline event at WrestleMania 41.

Friends no more as Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes after the Bad Blood 2024 PLE was over. Kevin was upset with Cody for teaming up with Roman Reigns and has now turned heel.
