Stephanie Vaquer lost the NXT Women’s title on the May 27 episode!
The May 27 episode of WWE NXT aired from the Performance Centre in Orlando, Florida. The episode served as the fallout show from the 2025 edition of NXT Battleground, which concluded on May 25.
In the main event of the show, NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer defended the title against Jacy Jayne. Vaquer was coming off a recent title defense at Battleground where she defeated Jordynne Grace to retain the title.
However, she was unable to defend the title successfully this time around as Jayne, with the help of her stable, Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx), pinned Vaquer to win and become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
Stephanie Vaquer & Jordynne Grace are expected to join WWE’s main roster
Following the May 27 show of Tuesday Night NXT, a report from PW Nexus’ Cory Hays on Twitter suggested that both Stephanie Vaquer and Jordynne Grace are expected to join the main roster.
Vaquer is expected to join the Monday Night Raw roster following her title loss, with many fans citing the move behind the title loss .
On the other hand, Jordynne Grace, who signed with the WWE in January and made her debut during the women’s Royal Rumble match, was expected to spend some time in the developmental brand before being promoted to the main roster. According to Hays, Grace is expected to join the SmackDown brand.
It’s uncertain whether Vaquer and Grace will make their move to the main roster through the upcoming, yet-to-be-announced 2025 WWE Draft, or in a manner similar to Roxanne Perez and Giulia, who recently ‘signed’ to Raw and SmackDown by General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis, respectively.
While Grace has not competed in any matches on the main roster except the Royal Rumble appearance, Vaquer made her debut on Raw last month on the fallout show from WrestleMania 41, where she challenged the Women’s World Champion IYO SKY to an impromptu match.
It will be interesting to see what the promotion has planned for the women’s roster in the aftermath of WrestleMania. Who do you think the two stars to feud with if they are promoted to the main roster.
