Veteran takes shot at WWE over Liv Morgan's absence

Liv Morgan has been out of WWE for a while now
Liv Morgan has been sidelined with injury since June, but her absence from WWE television continues to draw criticism. The former Women’s Champion has been a vital part of The Judgment Day over the past two years, and fans expected her presence on-screen even while she recovers.
This week, former WWE head writer Vince Russo spoke out against the company, questioning its decision to sideline Morgan completely while other injured talent still find themselves involved in non-wrestling roles.
Vince Russo blasts WWE’s creative decision
Speaking on Legion of RAW, Russo didn’t mince words when comparing how WWE is handling Xavier Woods’ injury to Morgan’s. Woods, who is also reportedly hurt, has been appearing ringside alongside Grayson Waller and Kofi Kingston despite being unable to compete.
“Bro, I’m hearing that Xavier is hurt. I think Xavier is hurt, and he’s gonna be out of action for a while,” Russo said. “This is what I don’t get. I swear to God. Xavier Woods has not meant anything in I can’t tell you how long. But yet, he’s hurt, and he’s on the show and Liv Morgan is not. That’s where I’m like, what? You’ve got a bonafide star who’s hurt not on the show. You’ve got a guy who means absolutely nothing hurt, and on the show.”
Russo argued that Morgan’s presence on television could help maintain momentum for her character, while Woods’ role adds little to ongoing storylines.
Judgment Day remains strong without Liv Morgan
Despite her absence, The Judgment Day has continued to thrive. Damian Priest, Finn Bálor, and Dominik Mysterio remain central figures on RAW, while Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez recently dropped the Women’s Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam.
Fans are now waiting to see how Morgan’s return will impact the faction. Given her star power and connection with the WWE Universe, her comeback could provide a much-needed spark, especially as WWE builds toward its fall schedule of premium live events.
Why is Liv Morgan out of WWE action?
She suffered an injury in her June 16 RAW match against Kairi Sane and has been recovering since.
What did Vince Russo say about Liv Morgan’s absence?
Russo criticized WWE for sidelining Morgan while allowing injured Xavier Woods to appear in a ringside role, calling it hypocritical.
When is Liv Morgan expected to return?
No official return date has been announced, but fans anticipate she will rejoin The Judgment Day storyline once cleared.
