Top five ways WWE can end Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk rivalry

CM Punk vs Drew McIntyre is one of the biggest rivalries in WWE at present!

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have been having a heated rivalry since late 2023. They developed their storyline into one of the key driving factors of the company, despite being medically uncleared to compete.

Punk recently got cleared to compete and faced McIntyre at SummerSlam, but ended in vain as Drew pinned Punk for the win. After which, Punk called for a strap match with Drew, where Punk took the revenge and made it 1-1.

Although the feud is teased to be over, both haven’t got a closure for the feud, which hints that their rivalry could continue. So here we explore five possible ways WWE can end the Drew McIntyre vs CM Punk rivalry.

5. Seth Rollins could be the turning point

Seth Rollins has been teasing a feud with CM Punk right since Punk’s WWE return, however, Drew took it personally with Punk and carried the rivalry to a new level. Rollins has made it clear that he will be coming for Punk on several occasions, but the injuries and external interferences took him away from the feud.

Rollins could help Drew defeat Punk to end their rivalry and kick start Punk’s rivalry with Rollins at a flow, like how WWE booked the end of rivalries in recent times.

4. Hell in a Cell Match

There has been a big rumor backstage about Punk and McIntyre having their third match at Bad Blood inside the Hell in a Cell. Both fighting inside the cell, trying to kill each other and trying to bury each other could be the perfect ending for Punk vs McIntyre’s longtime rivalry. Punk defeating Drew and ending the rivalry could set a perfect ending for their rivalry in the upcoming events.

3. First Blood Match

Both Drew McIntyre and Punk are bloodthirsty and have been trying to break each other’s face inside the ring. As Punk picked up the Strap Match stipulation after hurting Drew with the leather strap, Drew could call for the First Blood match at Bad Blood, as he made him bleed at Bash in Berlin. They could settle the feud with one making another bleed and proving dominance over the other.

2. Unsanctioned match

WWE can book an unsanctioned match between the two similar to how the company tried to end rivalries in the Attitude Era. As both are uncontrollable and don’t follow the boundaries and rules, an unsanctioned match could be the perfect ending for their rivalry, as anything and everything is legal in the match. Punk winning the unsanctioned match and proving his dominance on Drew could end the feud.

1. The loser leaves the Raw brand

WWE can book a third match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk at WWE Bad Blood 2024 PLE. The company could try to end their rivalry with the third match to stop them from getting out of control in the weekly shows.

To make it right, Pearce could add a stipulation saying that the loser will leave Raw and move to SmackDown. By moving them to a different roster they could put a temporary end to the rivalry and they could reinstate it anytime in the future. This could also help both move on and pursue their world championship dreams on their respective brands, without interference from others.
