Rhea Ripley & Damian Priest will be facing Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan in a Mixed Tag Team Match at Bash in Berlin 2024

At SummerSlam 2024 Dominik Mysterio turned on Rhea Ripley by aligning with Liv Morgan, by helping Liv to retain the world title. After the match, Dom kissed Liv Morgan in front of Rhea.

Later the same night, Finn Balor screwed Damian Priest during his World Championship defense against Gunther, which made Priest lose his world title.

In the fallout, Balos revealed that it was a long time coming and they got kicked out of Judgment Day, as the remaining members stood with Balor and he added Liv Morgan and Carlito into the faction.

Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley tried to have redemption, however, the number of games made it impossible for them to take all of Judgment Day at the same time.

At this stage, they challenged Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan for a Mixed Tag Team Match and the match was confirmed for Bash in Berlin 2024. Ahead of their match, here we take a look at what is a mixed tag team match and the rules and regulations of it.

What is a mixed-tag team match?

A mixed tag team match is a mixed-gender or mixed-size tag team match, where wrestlers of a designated category compete in a tag team match. In WWE a mixed tag team match is held when a male wrestler teams up with a female wrestler to take on another Intergender tag team.

Unlike the normal tag team matches, only the wrestlers of the same category can be legal to compete. For example, if a male wrestler tagged a female wrestler the opponent female wrestler will automatically become the legal person without getting the tag and the same things apply to the male wrestlers.

There are also several intergender tag team matches in the industry, where the matches are held under the normal tag team rules, where only tagged wrestlers are legally allowed to compete inside the ring, irrespective of gender. For example, a male wrestler can fight a female wrestler unless and until one tags the other.

The match that WWE hosts is the mixed tag team match, where only the female wrestler competes with her gender opponent and the male wrestler competes with the male opponent.

The match became quite common in recent years, as there were several mixed tag team matches held in the weekly shows. WWE previously conducted the mixed tag team tournament in the past, which was a huge success at the time.
