What moment marked the end of the WWE PG Era?

The PG programming started in July 2008
WWE is one of the successful and longest-running professional wrestling promotions. The company has witnessed a number of eras including the Golden Era, New Generation Era, Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression Era, PG Era and more.
Every era has its unique attributes, where The PG Era has distanced the company from the edgier content of years past. The company began more into a PG television program, where more adult related contents and violence started to disappear from the television and more storylines were put in place.
It was previously reported that Rock’s program got a memo from the board about crossing the PG guidelines, as most of his aggressive words went into censor. Paul Heyman during the Hall of Fame speech went too aggressive and had crossed the PG-TV guidelines. However the latest report suggests that we are witnessing the end of the PG Era.
WWE PG Era comes to an end
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Rock interviews and Paul Heyman’s promo are considered as the official end of the PG era. It is said that it was not about the TV Shows changing, but is something that about but no decision has been made. However it will be determined months from now.
Wrestling Observer Newsletter,
“It was said to us that the Rock interviews and Heyman promo are considered the official end of the PG era. This isn’t to say that the TV shows will be changing. That is something talked about but no decision has been made, but I’m guessing a decision will be made at the end of the year when Raw goes to Netflix and NXT to CW, based on what those broadcasters want and also what sponsors will be comfortable with.”
“So that will be determined months from now, but the attempts to keep things PG in the big picture which had been a big thing to the point of the memo being sent out about it several weeks back, such as in social media or in non-television shows, is now no longer the case.”
WWE has been teasing the beginning of the new Paul “Triple H” Levesque era since WrestleMania 40 Night 1. However, it seems like the new era began as the PG Era came to an end. So what will this new era bring to the fans? Do let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
