WWE Network is shutting down from 1 January 2025

The Stamford-based promotion is all set for Monday Night Raw‘s debut on the streaming platform Netflix. The debut episode of the Red brand will officially be held on January 6, 2025, from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

Along with the new home of the Red brand, the streaming giant will be the new home for all shows outside of the US, including Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and Premium Live Events such as WrestleMania and Royal Rumble.

Ahead of the transition, the Stamford-based promotion notified WWE Network users about its shutdown, with content set to move to the streaming giant.

WWE Network came into existence on February 24, 2014, and it is available in 180 countries. It was the successor of the WWE Classics on Demand service.

WCW shows will not be available on Netflix from January

According to recent reports from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Several past WWE PLEs are already marked as ‘coming soon’ on the UK version of Netflix, including Judgment Day 2008, Elimination Chamber 2024, ECW December To Dismember, and Extreme Rules 2022.

However, only 40 past PLEs will be available on Netflix starting January 1, with more titles being added on February 7 and an additional seven or eight on March 31.

“The answer is not much. There’ll be all the current shows, obviously, will be on every single week. This is international, not United States, which will only be Raw. All the pay-per-views, everything is going to be on Netflix. As far as your archives, there will be some, but very little. When everything starts on January 1st, they’re going to have roughly 40 pay-per-views, will be the only thing up. Just intermittent, some recent, some from years ago,

There’ll be no WCW, it’s all WWE. No Mid-Atlantic, no Mid-South Wrestling, no World Class. None of that tape library stuff. People didn’t really watch a lot of it [on the WWE Network] so that’s what happened. There will be old episodes, some old episodes, of NXT, Raw, and SmackDown.” Dave Meltzer reported.

The report also states that no content from World Championship Wrestling (WCW) or other promotions will be available on Netflix for at least four to five months, if ever.

The promotion has major plans for the debut show of the Red brand, including appearances from The Rock and John Cena. According to reports, Roman Reigns is set to compete on Raw for the first time in two years. A match between Seth Rollins and CM Punk is also reportedly planned.
