WWE has now been promoting the September 13, 2024 episode of SmackDown as the Season Premiere. So what does WWE SmackDown ‘Season Premiere’ mean? What should fans expect? Here is everything you need to know about the season premiere.
What is WWE SmackDown ‘Season Premiere’?
WWE SmackDown is a weekly television show, which is telecasted 52 days a year. Normally a television show and the TV ratings are measured from September to August and the typical Television shows will kick-start their new season in mid-September. Similarly, the blue brand kicking off its new season with the first episode is billed to be WWE SmackDown ‘Season Premiere’.
It is not only the new season for the blue brand and it also marks the blue roster’s return to the USA Network, after five long years. The SmackDown Premiere on USA Network will be held on September 13, 2024, from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, United States. To make the return special, WWE has booked some of the pay-per-view-worthy matches and segments for the show.
Matches & Segments confirmed for the USA Premiere
- Cody Rhodes will be defending his Undisputed WWE Championship on the line against Solo Sikoa in a steel cage match.
- ‘The Original Tribal Chief’ is announced to make his return after almost a month of hiatus.
- Kevin Owens will team up with a mystery partner and will face Austin Theory & Grayson Waller of A-Town Down Under in a tag team match.
- Carmelo Hayes and Andrade will square off for the fifth time in a rubber match, with the winner earning an opportunity to challenge LA Knight for the US title in the future.
WWE SmackDown is not the only show that will be having the Season Premiere, as WWE Raw and WWE NXT will also have their season premiere this week.
