What's next for Cody Rhodes after being pinned at Money in the Bank 2024?:WWE
Cody Rhodes took the pinfall for his team at WWE Money in the Bank 2024
WWE is coming off yet another successful International Premium Live Event, Money in the Bank, that enthralled the audience in Toronto, Canada. The event saw massive shockers and jam-packed in-ring action. However, the ending of the show was a sight that could alter the WWE landscape moving forward.
The current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes teamed up with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to battle The Bloodline trio of Tama Tonga, the debutant Jacob Fatu and their self-proclaimed Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa. The feud had been brewing for months, first involving Orton and Owens going back and forth with The Bloodline.
Cody Rhodes, after defeating their previous leader, Roman Reigns, at WrestleMania 40 to claim the Undisputed WWE Championship, found himself once again in the crosshairs of The Bloodline at the end of WWE Clash at the Castle. This led Rhodes to align himself with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens in their quest to take down Solo Sikoa’s dominant force.
WWE planning Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa for Summerslam
The two sides collided against each other at WWE Money in the Bank 2024. The match was a sight of absolute carnage and chaos that unfolded in the Scotiabank Arena. However, the ending of the bout was a massive shocker as a combined effort saw Solo Sikoa landing a thunderous Samoan Spike on Cody Rhodes and pinning him to claim the victory for his team. This made Sikoa the first man to pin The American Nightmare since he became the new World Champion.
On the other hand, pinning the current Undisputed WWE Champion is a huge feat for Solo Sikoa at this point in his career. The new Tribal Chief is already taking the wrestling world by storm, and this victory could put him next in line to become the No.1 contender for Cody Rhodes’ title.
According to an earlier report by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Cody Rhodes vs Solo Sikoa is planned for WWE’s upcoming event, SummerSlam, next month. With Sikoa pinning Rhodes’ shoulders to the mat, this could be the logic booking moving forward, posing a serious threat to Cody’s title reign as Solo aims to bring the Undisputed title back to his family.
