Damian Priest is one of the most dominant and powerful WWE superstar, who has a pretty impressive run since his debut. He has been playing an important role in the Judgment Day stable and is the current World Heavyweight Champion on his first reign.
Priest successfully cashed-in his Money in the Bank on Night 2 of WrestleMania 40 against Drew McIntyre to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the very first time. He recently defended his world title for the very first time against Jey Uso at Backlash 2024 & successfully retained. As Priest surpassed the first hurdle, what’s next for Priest after WWE Backlash 2024? Here we speculate some of the potential angles for Priest.
Wait for King of the Ring winner
The King of the Ring winners in the past were awarded with a world championship opportunity. If the company brings back the same thing for this year’s tournament, Damian Priest could wait for the King of the Ring Winner to find out his next opponent. Since some of the big names are announced for the tournament, this could be more interesting than usual.
Handle Judgment Day business
Damian Priest could handle the tensions within The Judgment Day. Priest has been warning all the other members of the Judgment Day not to get involved in his business. Priest also has pushed McDonagh & Finn Balor after his match against Jey Uso at Backlash 2024. Priest might sort out the problems in the Bloodline.
Damian Priest vs Finn Balor
Damian Priest has been acting as the leader since Rhea Ripley left the stable and it seems to be creating tensions within the stable. Priest at Backlash has even pushed JD McDonagh & Finn Balor, saying not to interfere in his business. However they played a major role to make him retain the title. If the situation got worse, Balor & McDonagh could turn on Priest. This could result in Finn Balor challenging Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Damian Priest vs Drew McIntyre
At WrestleMania 40, Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract against Drew McIntyre to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Drew never got a rematch for the title, however is angry with CM Punk & Priest. McIntyre could claim his right to challenge Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship at the upcoming events. He could be a big threat to Priest’s championship reign & eventually will be a good storyline for McIntyre until Punk’s return.
