Sami Zayn failed to regain the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Bron Breakker on Monday Night RAW.
Sami Zayn is known to carve a WWE career by proving his doubters wrong and rising to the occasion in high-pressure situations. Zayn overcame The Ring General, Gunther at WrestleMania 40 to begin an end to his record-setting WWE Intercontinental Title reign and begin his run as the new champion.
However, his title reign was in complete jeopardy ever since the RAW upstart, Bron Breakker arrived on the scene and set his sights on the workhorse championship. This led to their first title match at WWE Money in the Bank, which Zayn won. However, he finally fell to the wrath of Breakker at SummerSlam with The Wolf Dog clinching his first major singles title.
With both men holding a victory over each other, a 2-out-of-3 falls match was scheduled between Zayn and Breakker on this week’s edition of RAW. Despite Sami’s valiant effort, kicking off the match with the first fall, he failed to put Bron Breakker down, who picked up the other two falls and retained his championship in a spectacular showdown.
What could be the next logical booking for Sami Zayn in WWE?
The WWE Universe had a splendid time during Sami Zayn’s reign as champion, but they have now ushered in the Bron Breakker era with him as the Intercontinental Champion. With the workhorse championship possibly out of his reach now, Sami could look forward to other bastions in WWE.
A logical step that has been teased for weeks on Monday Night RAW could see Sami Zayn join forces with Jey Uso and form a new alliance. This could also see the dynamic duo go after and possibly win the WWE World Tag Team Championships and engage in a feud with The new Judgement Day. This would prove to be a fresh direction for both Sami Zayn and Jey Uso.
Furthermore, as the months go by, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso could head to SmackDown to join Roman Reigns. The OTC, alongside Jey, Sami and the returning Jimmy Uso could reform the OG Bloodline in the war against Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline.
