When will Dakota Kai make her WWE return from injury? Potential return timeline

Dakota Kai didn’t appeared on the 8/12 episode of WWE Raw

On the July 29, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw, Damage CTRL made their return to WWE TV and attacked Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark, after their match against Lyra Valkyria, Katana Chance & Kayden Carter. Following that they made a big statement backstage and Dakota Kai challenged Sonya Deville for a singles match.

The following week on Raw (August 05, 2024), ahead of the match Deville, Baszler and Stark attacked Dakota Kai backstage, and made her unable to compete. IYO SKY replaced her in the match and secured a win.

This week on Raw (August 12, 2024), Damage CTRL had the #1 Contenders match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles, but Dakota was nowhere to be seen. However, WWE has officially given an update on her status on this week’s Raw.

Dakota Kai’s WWE status

On this week’s Raw, while Damage CTRL made their entrance for the #1 Contender’s WWE Tag Team Championship match, the voice of WWE, Michael Cole addressed Dakota Kai’s injury. Michael Cole said that Dakota will be out of action for eight to ten weeks due to a torn meniscus and needs to undergo surgery.

Last week the backstage report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE has planned the attack to cover her legitimate injuries.

Meltzer said,

“Remember on Monday we were talking about Seth and Dakota? It was done for injury reasons…I don’t know how serious. I asked if those were storyline covers for injuries and I was told they both were.”

Dakota previously suffered an ACL injury last year and was away from WWE TV for a very long time. Between the recovery period, Kai made her return to TV and worked in non-wrestling roles. She got back into action earlier this year on the road to WrestleMania 40, but again got injured, making it a hard journey for Kai.

Well she is not the only Damage CTRL member who is suffering an injury. Earlier this year, Asuka suffered a major leg injury and underwent surgery and is currently on the recovery period. Since two of them are out of action, we need to wait and see, when the complete Damage CTRL members will reunite in the ring again.
