“The Head of the Table” could return sooner than expected

It’s expected that Roman Reigns’ protracted exile from WWE programming will soon come to an end. PWInsider.com (via Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News) reports that Reigns is anticipated to return by SummerSlam at the latest.

The report also stated that, given that SummerSlam is set for August 3, Reigns may make a comeback at any time if the original plan planned for him to return two to three weeks before the event.

Since Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns in the main event of Night 2 of WrestleMania 40 in April to capture the undisputed WWE Championship, Reigns has not been seen in a WWE ring.

That brought an end to a record-breaking 1,316-day reign—among the longest in history and the longest since Hulk Hogan’s 1,474-day reign in the 1980s—that lasted for the WWE championship.

Solo Sikoa has taken Roman Reigns’ place as the new “Tribal Chief”

Solo Sikoa the new Tribal Chief, has assumed control of The Bloodline in Reigns’ absence. Sikoa added Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu to the gang and fired Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman.

In his recent promos, Solo has been criticizing Reigns, claiming that Roman wasn’t strong enough to defend the WWE Championship for The Bloodline at WrestleMania 40.

Additionally, Sikoa stated on this week’s SmackDown program that Roman would have to accept Reigns as the new Tribal Chief if he ever made a comeback to the WWE.

Randy Orton and Rhodes were both brutally attacked by Sikoa and his new Bloodline during the last moments of Friday’s SmackDown show.

All indications confirm Rhodes and Sikoa facing off for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam after The Bloodline defeated Orton, Rhodes, and Kevin Owens in a six-man tag match at Money in the Bank.

Fans will surely expect a big comeback in the shape of Roman Reigns or The Rock, or maybe even both, if that turns out to be the main event.

It would make more sense for WWE to hold off on bringing Reigns back until SummerSlam instead of ruining the surprise on a random SmackDown program in the interim.

Despite being a villain, Reigns had one of the best runs in WWE history while he was the world champion, and his popularity grew even more because of what the fans were seeing in him.

Reigns will be firmly established as a fan favorite if he comes up at SummerSlam to face Solo and The Bloodline. It seems like the WWE Universe has been waiting for an excuse to embrace Reigns as a babyface.
