The flagship show emanates every Friday!
One of the most-viewed television shows on Friday nights in the United States has been WWE‘s flagship show, Friday Night SmackDown. The show airs every Friday at 8 ET/ 7 CT. The show made its debut on UPN from the New Haven Coliseum in New Haven, Connecticut, on April 29, 1999.
The show originally aired on Thursday nights but shifted to Friday nights on September 9, 2005, and began airing on The CW in September 2006 after the merger of UPN and WB.
After the move to MyNetworkTV in October 2008, the Blue brand once again transitioned in 2010, this time to Syfy. It later returned to Thursdays on January 15, 2015, and moved to USA Network on January 7, 2016, and began airing live on Tuesday nights starting July 19, 2016.
On October 4, 2019, the show returned to Friday nights on Fox, marking its second stint on a Fox-owned network. The show returned to USA Network on September 13, 2024, and has since become the home of the Blue brand.
Additionally, the show airs on Netflix in international markets, excluding some where older broadcasting rights exist. Similar to Monday Night Raw, the Blue brand’s show has been broadcast from over 100+ different arenas, cities, and towns, as well as ten different countries.
