Becky Lynch has been absent from WWE programming since June 2024
The Stamford-based promotion delivered on its promise and delivered a historic debut episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. The show featured multiple returns from WWE legends and four high-stakes matches that had jaw-dropping moments.
Roman Reigns re-established order by reclaiming the Ula Fala while Rhea Ripley pinned Liv Morgan to become the two-time Women’s World Champion. Jey Uso and CM Punk also emerged victorious in their respective clashes.
However, WWE fans were hoping to see one more star return but their hopes were answered as contrary to fan belief Becky Lynch didn’t make her return tonight.
Lynch’s appearance in the promo video for Netflix which was released last month, seemingly confirmed her return to the promotion. She has been absent from WWE programming since June when her contract with the promotion expires.
Becky Lynch’s return was postponed due to The Undertaker
On the debut episode, Rhea Ripley landed two back-to-back Riptides on Liv Morgan and pinned the champion to bag the win and become the Women’s World Champion for the second time in her career. Following the win when Ripley was celebrating, The Undertaker made a surprising appearance.
The Undertaker appeared riding a motorcycle and greeted the Inglewood crowd by revving the engine. He then joined Ripley in her title-win celebration as fireworks went off in the background.
However, as per a recent report, this wasn’t the original plan for the match. According to BodySlam’s Cory Hayes, Lynch was in town and was originally scheduled to appear during the Ripley vs Morgan clash but that plan was dropped in favor of The Undertaker having a moment with Rhea Ripley.
The reports further suggest that Lynch will return very soon to the WWE and the direction for her return will be WrestleMania.
“Becky will return very soon and when she does, her direction for WrestleMania season will be very clear. “
Lynch‘s last in-ring appearance was against Liv Morgan on the 05/27/24 episode of Monday Night Raw which was held at the Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia. The two stars clashed in Steel Cage where Morgan’s Women’s World Title was on the line.
