#DIY is a popular WWE tag team consisting of Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano. The tag team was formed in 2015 and had a long history in WWE’s developmental brand NXT. The duo won a total of seven championships in NXT and is one of the greatest NXT duos of all time. After being called up for the main roster, and got reunited in October 2023 and have been in pursuit of winning their first main roster tag team titles.

On the June 14, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown, #DIY challenged Austin Theory & Grayson Waller for the WWE Tag Team Championship, but Waller regretted defending the title at Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland. With their challenge being issued, here are some of the reasons why #DIY should win the WWE Tag Team Championship.

4. To refresh the tag team division

The tag team division in Smackdown is filled with a number of heel tag teams. This made A-Town Down Under free from potential babyface challengers. Whereas a babyface champion could refresh the division with a number of potential heel feuds and bring some teams back on TV.

3. To bring back ‘The Way’

Austin Theory has been the center of attention in this rivalry, where Gargano and Ciampa try to save Theory from Waller, who is using him. #DIY winning the tag team titles from Theory & Waller could pave the way for the reunion of The Way. If you don’t know what The Way is, it is a popular NXT faction involving Johnny Gargano, Austin Theory, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell & Dexter Lumis. Since almost all the members are there in SmackDown, The Way formation could happen after DIY wins the tag team titles from A-Town Down Under.

2. #DIY hasn’t won anything big in the main roster

#DIY is one of the most successful duos in NXT, where both Ciampa and Gargano held a total of seven championships, including three NXT Championships, three NXT North American Championships and one NXT Tag Team Championship. Although achieving major success in the developmental brand, the duo haven’t won anything big in the main roster. The duo deserves a big win and winning the WWE Tag Team titles could be the right start for them.

1. For Austin Theory’s to turn baby-face

In recent times, WWE has been teasing internal tension within A-Town Down Under. The teases suggest that Waller is using Theory. It seems like the title is the only thing that is holding them together. If #DIY won the WWE Tag Team Championship from A-Town Down Under, this would pave the way for Waller to turn on Theory, resulting in Austin turning babyface for the very first time on the main roster.
