Solo Sikoa has abandoned wrestling barefoot in favor of wrestling boots.

The Anoa’i family has produced some of the most compelling and captivating WWE superstars over the last four decades. One of the top stars who is prominently featured on WWE television programming weekly is Solo Sikoa, the son of WWE Hall of Famer, Rikishi.

Solo Sikoa made his debut in WWE’s developmental territory, NXT, in 2021. He made his debut with the moniker of ‘The Street Champion’ with his monster look and rich Samoan tattoos.

However, there was one more intriguing detail in Solo’s persona that was often noticed by the fans wrestling barefoot. This has also been seen as a nod to the late WWE Legend Umaga, who also is from the same family and wrestled barefoot during his tenure in WWE.

Why did Solo Sikoa leave fighting barefoot?

Solo Sikoa impressed the higher-ups with only one year tenure in NXT and made his debut on the main roster at the WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 event. Even after coming to the big leagues, Solo Sikoa continued to wrestle barefoot inside the squared circle. However, for a while, it has been noticed that Solo has left wrestling barefoot in favor of donning wrestling boots.

In a video on social media, Solo’s brothers, Jimmy and Jey Uso, can be seen watching their WrestleMania 39 entrance, talking about their all-white outfits. Jimmy then revealed that the duo wanted shoes for Solo as well because his feet would hurt while wrestling barefoot. Jimmy Uso stated at the end that this could probably be the reason that Solo Sikoa has now started wrestling in boots.

What is next for Solo Sikoa?

Solo Sikoa has not only changed a part of his wrestling attire but his entire personality since WrestleMania 40. Following Roman Reigns‘ loss at the show, Solo assumed the leadership of The Bloodline and declared himself the new Tribal Chief.

He is next slated to battle Roman Reigns and their old foe, Cody Rhodes, alongside Jacob Fatu at WWE’s next PLE, Bad Blood, scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 5, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
