“The American Nightmare” is soon to become double champ.

At WWE King and Queen of the Ring, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will compete against United States Champion Logan Paul in a Champion vs. Champion match. After bravely finishing his story by defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, Rhodes quickly consolidated his reign with a hard-fought championship victory over AJ Styles at Backlash France.

When he returned to SmackDown, he didn’t have to wait long to find out who his next opponent would be, as SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis told The American Nightmare that he will face Paul in Saudi Arabia.

Cody Rhodes stands on top of the mountain, heralding a new age of WWE. However, the Social Media Sensation has stated that he is the reason for WWE’s current success, which has nothing to do with Rhodes. Now, title holder will combat titleholder to determine which of those statements is correct.

Why winning US Title for Cody Rhodes is a wrong move?

Cody Rhodes is all set to become a double champ. We will explain why Cody Rhodes winning the US Title will be a wrong move. First things first.

WWE’s Superstars prepare to return to Saudi Arabia for the King and Queen of the Ring, with only two weeks until the next PLE. The biggest problem in this match making is the results are obvious and WWE isn’t going to take the title off “The American Nightmare”.

Logan Paul is currently one of the biggest star WWE has to offer taking the US title off of him would mean that he won’t be available for some time. There is also a huge possibilty that Logan Paul might leave WWE soon as well.

How was the match making between Logan Paul and Cody Rhodes?

Paul was labeled as Rhodes’ next opponent, hinting that the WWE Title will be on the line. However, the match listing on WWE.com makes no mention of the championship being up for grabs in the event. Rhodes remarked during the session that winning the US Title would make him a Grand Slam Champion. However, Paul soon cuts him off, hinting that the YouTube star is unwilling to risk his crown.

Rhodes has since turned to social media, evidently aware of the misunderstanding around what would be on the line at King and Queen of the Ring, and has tweeted “2 belts”. On the one hand, this strongly indicates that when he confronts Paul, both titles will be at stake.

On the other hand, the post is so brief that it may just be an indication of what Rhodes wants. The American Nightmare has previously tweeted about his championship aspirations, promising the return of the Winged Eagle when he becomes WWE Champion, but that vision has yet to be realized.

The event is advertised as a champion vs. champion showdown, and many will presume that means both championships are on the line. The main reason I’m hesitant to make that assumption is that I wouldn’t expect any of these men to lose their championships at King and Queen of the Ring.

Rhodes is unlikely to lose the championship anytime soon, and with SummerSlam taking place in Paul’s hometown, it appears like WWE will want him to stay the US Champion until at least then.

Following the rumors, Cody Rhodes has confirmed that both the Undisputed WWE Championship and United States Championship will be on the line at King and Queen of the Ring PLE. Cody has retweeted the match card on X/Twitter and wrote, “For All The Gold”. He has also pinned the tweet to the top of his profile.
