Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes backstage

After launching a vicious attack against WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens appeared in the latest episode of SmackDown (10/11) to share his side of the story. However, it soon led to chaos all around as Rhodes emerged to confront Owens while security tried to calm the WWE stars down.

During the scuffle, Randy Orton attempted to break the feud between Owens and Rhodes. The Viper’s attempt failed as he got into an altercation with his long-time ally Owens. This led to Owens attacking Orton backstage in the parking lot.

Kevin Owens opposed Cody Rhodes’ alliance with Roman Reigns

Owens has a long history of feuds with Roman Reigns that dates back to 2020. Owens was attacked multiple times by the hands of the Bloodline. At the 2021 Royal Rumble Owens had the chance to exact his revenge against the Tribal Chied. Despite his attempts, he lost at the hands of Roman.

Owens once again came very close to defeating Reigns at Survivor Series: War Games. He was betrayed by his best friend Sami Zayn as he interrupted the official count. On the very first SmackDown of 2023, Kevin also teamed with John Cena to defeat the team of Reigns and Zayn.

Following his win, Owens wanted to claim Reigns’ WWE title and his status as the ‘Top Dog’. However, he failed again in his pursuit as Reigns defeated him to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the 2023 Royal Rumble.

The Bloodline handcuffed and battered Owens right after the loss at the 2023 Royal Rumble. This really cemented Owens’ hatred towards Reigns. Even after exacting revenge after teaming up with his old-time friend Sami Zayn. He still had a strong dislike for Reigns and the Bloodline.

Rhodes’ decision to team up with Reigns for the Bad Blood 2024 PLE confused Owens as Reigns was somebody who tormented him for years and was now teaming up with Rhodes who was his friend.

Kevin was against the unholy tag team and stated his opinions. However, Rhodes ignored all the warnings and fought alongside Reigns at Bad Blood 2024. Owens finally snapped letting out all his frustration against Rhodes and attacked him.

After all the pent-up anger Owens and being betrayed by his friend Owens gave in and became a heel. Do you think Owens’ heel run is justified considering his history with Reigns? Let us know your opinions in the comments section down below.
