Why Logan Paul is not a part of WWE’s tour in Japan? Exploring controversial past of US Champion

The Maverick is WWE’s current United States Champion.
Logan Paul is a popular pick for WWE when it plans shows outside the United States. The Maverick’s large social media following, combined with his YouTube presence, helps to increase ticket sales and draw attention to the product.
Unfortunately, the United States Champion will not be present on WWE’s tour to Japan, as stated by WWE and Japan’s media partner, ABEMA. Following that, PWInsider reported that Logan Paul has some prior commitments that prevent him from flying to Japan.
However, fans speculate that The Maverick may not join the tour due to an incident in 2017. Nonetheless, it is vital to highlight that Paul is not banned from entering the nation despite the 2017-2018 incident, and this seems like a personal decision made by Logan Paul.
What happened in Japan in 2017 involving Logan Paul?
Logan Paul visited Japan in December 2017 and made a vlog in the Aokigahara Forest, often known as the ‘Suicide Forest’. Paul’s vlog showed him making degrading remarks about a deceased man. When the vlog was published on YouTube, Paul faced tremendous outrage and removed the video.
Given that he became the most disliked man for a spell in 2018, Paul’s decision may have been purely personal. On the other hand, WWE may be attempting to avoid any form of issue or difficulty by not including Logan Paul on the Japan tour.
After a five-year hiatus, the Stamford-based promotion returns to Japan for three live events. The first will take place on July 25th, 2024, at Osaka’s Edion Arena. The second and third live events will take place on July 26th and 27th, 2024, in Tokyo’s Ryogoku Arena.
Logan Paul fell out with The Rock over the Japan incident
Logan Paul has already cooperated with The Rock on several videos and vines before his Japan vlog debuted. When the video aired, it had an emotional impact on Dwayne Johnson, prompting him to cut off all ties with The Maverick. Furthermore, he asked that all of their vines be deleted from social media.
Logan Paul explained how he received the message from The Rock following the video’s posting on YouTube.
“I got a call from my publicist, who also repped Dwayne Johnson. She’s like ‘Hey, Dwayne has asked that you remove every video and picture that you’ve done with him. Maybe in the future, it can be reconciled, but for now, he doesn’t want anything to do with you.’ “Which I also understood.”
The YouTube sensation issued an apology for the video. Currently, The Maverick has the WWE United States Championship. The Stamford-based organization may schedule a battle between Paul and LA Knight next.
