Ula Fala has been playing a major role in the Bloodline storyline!

The Ula Fala is the red necklace that Roman Reigns wore in WWE for the last four years, which is currently around the neck of Solo Sikoa.

The red necklace has played a major role in the Bloodline and there is a big rivalry storyline going on between Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa for the sacred ornament.

The necklace made Solo the Tribal Chief of The Bloodline, Roman Reigns returned to take the red necklace from Solo Sikoa, despite going for a title rematch with Cody Rhodes.

Why is there such hype for the necklace? Why is Ula Fala considered the bigger thing than any other championships in WWE? Here is everything you need to know about the Samoan red necklace.

Why is Ula Fala bigger than any championships?

Ula Fala is made from the seeds of the Pandanus trees. The seeds are painted red for the ornamentation and linked with each other to form the Samoan necklace. It is the traditional ornament of the Samoan dynasty and it represents their culture and pride.

In the Samoan culture, only the high chiefs wear the Ula Fala necklaces. The one who wears the necklace is considered the high chief, who is responsible for the family’s legacy and is considered the protector of the dynasty. Not everyone came to become the Tribal Chief by wearing the Ula Fala.

The necklace and status of the Chief will be passed from one person to another, only through the blessings and acknowledgment of the ancestors.

The Rock’s Grandfather’s father Peter Miavia passed the torch to Roman’s Uncle & Father Afa and Sika (The Wild Samoans) and they chose Roman Reigns as the Tribal Chief to protect their family.

Going against the Tribal Chief means going against the elders and it is considered as a disrespect. Since the necklace is more important in Samoan culture, it is worn only on special occasions, to show the importance of it.

Is Solo Sikoa the Tribal Chief?

Although Solo Sikoa claims himself as the Tribal Chief, the Ula Fala is not passed through Roman or any of the ancestors and is not legally recognized as the Tribal Chief based on the culture. Solo stole the necklace and used advantage of Roman’s absence to claim himself the Tribal Chief.

However Solo knows the value of Ula Fala and the person who owns it. During a segment on SmackDown, Solo said Tama Tonga, that is Roman gets the necklace back, he said that they need to acknowledge them.

Based on all the historical and cultural values the necklace holds, Ula Fala is considered the biggest thing than any other championship to the Bloodline and the Anoa’i family members.
