CM Punk got attacked by Drew McIntyre during his last appearance
CM Punk has been on hiatus from in-ring competition for a long time. Despite being out of in-ring action, Punk appears periodically on important occasions. He recently traveled to Glasgow, Scotland to cost McIntyre his World Heavyweight Championship match.
The following week SmackDown Punk showed up again to open the show in his hometown Chicago Illinois. Punk had a promo with Paul Heyman & got confronted by Bloodline and later got assaulted by Drew McIntyre backstage. Punk was bleeding all over his face and was taken to an ambulance for medical attention. Punk was not seen then and here we take a look at his WWE status ahead of the June 1, 2024 episode of Raw.
CM Punk’s status for Monday Night Raw
CM Punk is not advertised for the upcoming 7/1 episode of Monday Night Raw in Boston, Massachusetts. This seemingly hints that Punk won’t be appearing for this week’s Raw. Backstage reports also suggest the same as Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select on the recent Q&A podcast addressed Punk’s WWE in-ring status saying that as of Friday Night, Punk is now cleared for in-ring action.
Sean Ross Sapp said, “No he wasn’t, as of last Friday. That’s why they had to get creative with him.”
As Punk is unlikely to be on Raw, Drew McIntyre will be competing in the Men’s Money in the Bank qualifying match to secure his spot in the MITB match in Toronto, Canada.
Drew McIntyre previously said that he has set his sights on winning the Money in the Bank briefcase and cash-in the same night to become the World Heavyweight Champion for the fourth time. Drew believes that Punk will not be making it to MITB after his attack on SmackDown two weeks ago.
Ahead of Raw, Drew posted a family picture of him and his wife with Punk’s bracelet, which has Punk’s wife’s name ‘AJ Lee’ and Punk’s dog name ‘Larry’ on it.
Although CM Punk’s status is not officially confirmed and reports saying that he will not be making it to Raw, anything could happen at the last minute. We need to wait and watch what Monday Night Raw will bring to the table.
