CM Punk will defend the World Heavyweight title against Roman Reigns.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is set to defend the title in the main event of WrestleMania 42 on April 19 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The two stars have been going back and forth ahead of their clash on Monday Night Raw.

The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) have also inserted themselves into the feud after Punk vowed to bury Reigns next to his deceased father, a comment which the Usos took issue with.

However, the inclusion of The Usos has further fueled the narrative of Reigns being unable to do things on his own in WWE and always needing backup, with his cousins doing all the dirty work.

Even CM Punk has called out Reigns for using the Usos to fight his war, and has on multiple occasions mocked Reigns, sending the Usos to do his bidding.

Reigns has vehemently denied using the Usos to do his bidding. This even became a major angle during his clash against Bronson Reed at Crown Jewel. A fan on X (Twitter) has shared a storyline that might help Roman prove everyone wrong.

Roman Reigns should ban the Usos from ringside

A fan on X posted a tweet, suggesting a storyline idea of Roman Reigns banning The Usos from ringside at WrestleMania to prove to CM Punk (and himself) wrong and that he can succeed alone with the help of his cousins.

People being banned from the ringside is a classic wrestling stipulation, which is used when the goal is to create tension or prevent outside interference from allies or rivals. Reigns capturing the World Heavyweight title on his own would prove to everyone that he doesn’t need the Usos to win major matches.

Poor creative choices might hurt the main event

Responding to the fan tweet, online wrestling personality Ibou of Self Made tweeted, “You’re getting a ref bump, interference, and Uso internal conflict.”

Ibou’s comments not only predict how WWE is likely to book the match between Reigns and Punk, but also call out the poor creative choices by the promotion.

The promotion has been reusing multiple storylines and angles that have worked once, and instead of coming up with new ideas, they have been accused of rehashing the old ones multiple times.

Ibou’s comments also point to the same of WWE using the same old trick of the referee being taken out, leading to an outside interference, an angle far too familiar during the Bloodline saga.

The comment about Usos’ conflict is already being teased with Jey Uso bringing intensity to this past Monday’s Raw, while Jimmy has been trying to talk sense into him, stating that Roman will deal with Punk, and they need to take care of the World Tag team titles, while Jey is hell-bent on teaching Punk a lesson for talking about his family.

With struggling ticket sales and poor hype around WrestleMania, such a prediction outcome for the main event would further hurt the product and deter fans from tuning into weekly shows and PLEs.

When and where will WrestleMania 42 take place?

The 42nd edition of WrestleMania will take place as a two-night event on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.

Who will headline Night 2 of WrestleMania in Las Vegas?

The World Heavyweight title clash between CM Punk and Roman Reigns will headline Night 2 of the PLE, while Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton for the Undisputed title will headline Night 1.
