The Scottish Warrior is awaiting a worthy contender.

Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has been waiting in the wings ever since 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns chose World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, leaving McIntyre to wait until Elimination Chamber to learn who his WrestleMania opponent would be.

Randy Orton, LA Knight, Cody Rhodes, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, and Jey Uso will battle in the men’s Elimination Chamber match for an Undisputed title match at Mania. However, according to a new report, McIntyre will not be defending the title in a traditional one-on-one match.

Earlier reports suggested that McIntyre would battle Cody Rhodes in a rematch at Mania, while others also suggested the addition of Jacob Fatu. Now, a new report from WrestleVotes suggests that WWE is going in a different direction for the Undisputed title.

During a recent Q&A session, WrestleVotes revealed that the current internal plan for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42 does not involve a standard singles match. Votes also named potential participants who could be part of the aforementioned match at the ‘Grandest Stage.’

“At this point, it’s shaping up to be anything but a singles match. The expectation is a five-pack or even a six-pack challenge.

It’s wild to think that Aleister Black, Jacob Fatu, and Sami Zayn could all be part of the WWE Title match at WrestleMania. Whether it’s a four-man, five-man, or even six-man, but certainly won’t be a one-on-one match.”

If the reported plan for Mania is indeed true, it would definitely help the show, as many fans were very vocal against the idea of re-running Drew vs Cody at the ‘Grandest Stage.’ A five- or six-man challenge would drum up interest among fans and would also reduce McIntyre’s chances of leaving Mania still holding the title, making the match even more unpredictable.

While the report doesn’t mention ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton, the promotion might be planning for his inclusion as McIntyre during last week’s SmackDown, where McIntyre attacked Orton, costing him the match against Aleister Black.

The inclusion of such big names would make for an intriguing build, keeping fans engaged and also elevating the SmackDown brand on the Road to WrestleMania.
