WWE Backstage News on Carlito’s contract status
Carlito is one of the popular wrestlers in WWE, who is known for spitting apples on the face of opponents and for his curly hair. He is a second generation professional wrestler from the Colón wrestling family. He had a long run in WWE for eight years from 2003 to 2010, where he was a United States Champion, Intercontinental Champion, WWE Tag Team Champion and World Tag Team Champion.
He then appeared on a few occasions in WWE, while conducting his father's Hall of Fame induction in 2014. Returning to Royal Rumble in 2021 and teaming up with Jeff Hardy on Raw. His most recent WWE appearance was at Backlash 2023, where he was a part of San Juan Street Fight between Bad Bunny & Damien Priest, who came to assist Bad Bunny for the win.
Carlito's WWE Status
In June 2023, Carlito left the independent circuits, claiming that he had signed a contract with WWE and was waiting for his time to return.
In July, Carlito was about to make a full time return to SmackDown at MSG. As the Bloodline storyline took a long segment, Carlito's segment was cut due to time constraints.
As per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Carlito is still waiting for his return after signing a contract in June. As of now, WWE creative have no clear plans for the Carribean Cool on where to introduce him in the weekly episode of SmackDown.
