At WWE Bad Blood 2024, Rhea Ripley defended her Women’s World Championship against Liv Morgan in a brutal match that lived up to the hype. Ripley, known for her dominance, kicked things off with a thunderous dropkick and quickly followed with a fallaway slam.
Rhea Ripley dragged Liv to the outside and smashed her into the barricade, showcasing her raw power early on. However, Liv retaliated by targeting Ripley’s knee, landing a well-executed dragon screw and focusing her attack with punches and stomps to keep the champion grounded.
Liv Morgan kept her momentum going by smashing Ripley’s leg into the ring post and hitting a sunset flip powerbomb into the barricade. The challenger seemed in control after connecting with a Codebreaker, but Ripley blocked Liv’s attempt at the Riptide, and the match intensified. Ripley tried to mock her challenger with slaps and even tried to hit the Three Amigos suplexes, but Morgan blocked the third one, countering into a Razor’s Edge attempt.
The chaos ramped up when Dominik Mysterio, who was ringside, tried to get involved by opening the cage door. This distraction allowed Ripley to land a massive frog splash on Liv, but it still wasn’t enough to put her away. Ripley locked in the Prison Lock, forcing Liv to crawl toward the ropes for a break.
Outside the ring, Ripley delivered a vicious Riptide on the floor in front of Mysterio, sending a clear message. But Dominik’s interference backfired as he found himself dangling from the cage door, trapped by a chain. Ripley took the opportunity to mock and swat at him while officials scrambled to help.
As the match seemed to reach its climax, Ripley retrieved a kendo stick and began to torment Dominik, but Raquel Rodriguez intervened, attacking Ripley and rolling her back into the ring. This led to a disqualification, with Rhea Ripley retaining her title despite the chaotic ending.
Raquel tried to hand Liv a victory by placing her on top of Ripley after the match was called, but with the disqualification already in effect, Ripley kept her Women’s World Championship, leaving the WWE Universe with more questions than answers. The drama and tension between Ripley, Liv, and Raquel are far from over.
