Becky Lynch retains in style!
The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship was on the line at Clash in Paris as Becky Lynch faced against WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella. What unfolded inside the Paris La Défense Arena was a hard-hitting battle filled with drama, counters, and near falls that kept the crowd roaring until the very end.
From the opening bell, Nikki Bella showed she wasn’t returning to WWE just to make up the numbers. She stormed Lynch with stiff forearms and quick offense, even sending the champion crashing into the steel steps and ring apron.
Lynch, however, quickly regained control, planting Bella with a top-rope leg drop and punishing her with strikes and submission holds. The tone was set: Nikki’s resilience against Becky’s relentless aggression.
Nikki Bella pushes Becky to the limit
As the match developed, Nikki proved she could still hang with one of WWE’s all-time greats. She fought out of Lynch’s holds and delivered a brutal series of dropkicks, even bouncing Becky’s face off the announce desk to the shock of the French crowd. When Nikki connected with a Japanese Ocean Cyclone suplex, fans believed a new champion was about to be crowned.
Bella nearly stole it when she locked in the Fearless Lock twice, bending Lynch in the center of the ring. The champion, though, used her veteran instincts to reach the ropes and stay alive.
Nikki’s offense had the audience buzzing, and even when she hit a modified Man Handle Slam of her own, Becky showed incredible resilience by kicking out at two-and-a-half.
Becky Lynch survives and retains
The closing sequence was as dramatic as it gets. Nikki cinched in Lynch’s own Dis-Arm-Her, drawing gasps from the Paris faithful. But Lynch countered into a flash pin, turning the move against Bella and stealing the three-count. The crowd erupted as “The Man” held her championship high, still standing tall after one of her toughest challenges since winning the title.
Nikki Bella left Paris without the championship, but her performance proved she is far from a nostalgia act. She pushed Becky Lynch to her limits and showed flashes of why the Bella Twins remain one of WWE’s most iconic acts. For Becky, the win keeps her reign alive as she now looks ahead to future challengers, including the looming presence of Bayley.
