John Cena will kick off his retirement tour next month
The greatest wrestler of all time, John Cena is ready to kick off his retirement tour next month during the debut episode of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. The debut episode is set for January 6 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, U.S.A.
Cena revealed his plans to retire from in-ring competition at the end of 2025 during Money in the Bank 2024 PLE. The 16-time World Champion would retire from in-ring action at the end of 2025.
Cena is a 16-time world champion, boasting 13 WWE Championships and three World Heavyweight Championships. He shares the record of 16 world titles with WWE legend Ric Flair.
The 16-time World Champion transitioned into acting after a successful career in the WWE. He quickly gained prominence due to comedic timing and acting prowess.
Cena has expanded his career beyond wrestling, starring in various films and television shows. His notable roles include appearances in The Fast & Furious franchise, The Suicide Squad, and the TV series Peacemaker which falls under the DC banner.
John Cena would do a full year-long tour with the WWE
During an appearance on The Sports Media Podcast, WWE EVP Chris Legentil revealed that the G.O.A.T of pro wrestling will go out on his own term as he will do a full year-long tour with the promotion next year before hanging up his wrestling boots.
Legentil also stated that this would be the last time for WWE fans to witness Cena ‘one last time’ in action inside the squared ring.
“John Cena, as you might know, is going on his farewell tour. He announced last July that he’s retiring. But he’s going out on his own terms. He’s gonna do a full year-long tour with us. And that’s gonna be worldwide. We think that the opportunity for the people to see John Cena one last time all around the world is going to be quite powerful.” Legentil said.
Cena’s retirement tour would be an amazing gift for fans who have cheered for the 16-time champion for decades. It would also be interesting to see which other WWE stars get a chance to be a part of his retirement tour.
