Liv Morgan & Nia Jax fought in a high-octave match with lots of action
WWE Crown Jewel 2024 saw the historic crowning of the first-ever WWE Crown Jewel Women’s Champion, as Liv Morgan overcame Nia Jax in a highly anticipated bout. The match began with a video package highlighting the significance of the new title and setting the stage for Morgan and Jax’s showdown.
As Nia Jax made her entrance to a reserved Riyadh crowd, it was Liv Morgan who finally drew a strong reaction, electrifying the atmosphere with her presence. The fan-favorite arrived alone, notably without Raquel Rodriguez or “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio by her side.
The bell rang, and Jax quickly asserted her power advantage, dominating the early minutes with a relentless offense that kept Morgan on the defensive. Just when it looked like Jax might steamroll her way to the title, an unexpected twist occurred: Tiffany Stratton, Ms. Money in the Bank, emerged, teasing a potential cash-in. She hovered at ringside, assessing her opportunity, but quickly backed down when Jax noticed her, demanding she leave.
Despite Jax’s demand, Stratton lingered, intermittently eyeing the ring for another chance to cash in. This drew the attention of Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio, who appeared to back up Morgan. Rodriguez, in particular, began to stalk Stratton, leading to a tense standoff.
The distraction outside the ring provided an opening for Jax, who launched a brutal sneak attack, taking down both Morgan and Rodriguez before rolling Morgan back into the ring. Jax followed with an avalanche against the ropes and a thunderous leg drop, dragging Morgan to the corner in what appeared to be the match’s decisive moment. However, Mysterio then seized his moment, sliding Stratton’s briefcase into the ring to create a distraction.
As the referee’s attention was diverted, Rodriguez struck, knocking Jax off the ropes as she set up for a high-impact move. Morgan capitalized, hitting Jax with her signature Ob-Liv-ion finisher, securing the pinfall and the victory.
Liv Morgan made history as the inaugural WWE Crown Jewel Women’s Champion with this win. Overcoming Jax’s power and Stratton’s looming threat, Morgan emerged victorious in a hard-fought match with fans on the edge of their seats until the very end. This victory marks a milestone in Morgan’s career and adds another accolade to her growing legacy in WWE.
