WWE India will have a new home from next month
Netflix will become the exclusive new home for WWE in India. As part of Netflix’s long-term partnership with the sports entertainment company, Indian fans will be able to stream all of WWE’s weekly flagship shows — Raw, NXT, and SmackDown — as well as WWE’s Premium Live Events including SummerSlam, Money in the Bank, Royal Rumble and the upcoming WrestleMania.
Created for fans and presented live and in living colour, Netflix steps into the ring with WWE, showcasing serialized storytelling and high-adrenaline action three times a week (Raw, NXT, and SmackDown), 52 weeks a year. Blending the best of scripted content with unpredictable live entertainment, members in India will also enjoy live Hindi commentary.
To commemorate this momentous occasion, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque made a special announcement video welcoming Indian fans to the “Netflix era.”
Through this partnership, WWE fans in India will have seamless and immersive access to all WWE programming. Netflix will also feature new and exclusive archival content from the WWE vault, and the ability to stream live or on demand.
With a devoted wrestling fanbase, India has been one of WWE’s most engaged international markets. Through Netflix, WWE will reach even more fans with its unmatched combination of athleticism, drama, and larger-than-life storytelling. Are you ready? WWE streams live in India from April 1, only on Netflix.
The transition will mark the end of a historic partnership between Sony India & WWE
Ahead of the transition, Netflix India shared a video announcing the official transition featuring WWE CCO Triple H who hyped the transition and announced that along with RAW, NXT and SmackDown, every PLE from Royal Rumble to SummerSlam will be available on Netflix.
“Starting on April 1st, WWE has a brand new home in India, this means RAW, SmackDown, NXT every Premium Live Event from the Royal Rumble to SummerSlam and all of it leads to the grandest stage of all, WrestleMania!
So, India! I’ll ask you one more time, are you ready? becasuse this is the bginning of the Netflix era!” Triple H said.
The transition will mark the end of a historic partnership between SPNI and the Stamford-based promotion while opening the door for exciting possibilities in the future.
