Sol Ruca all set to face Chelsea Green on WWE NXT next week

WWE has locked in several key matches for next week’s episode of WWE NXT, building on the fallout from an eventful December 16 show that aired live.

With championship stakes, a new tournament, and rising tensions across multiple divisions, the December 23 episode is shaping up to be one of the most important NXT cards of the month.

Tuesday’s episode featured a controversial title change that immediately became the night’s biggest talking point. Thea Hail defeated Blake Monroe to win the NXT Women’s North American Championship via pinfall following a botched referee sequence.

Elsewhere on the card, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger picked up an impressive tag team victory over Bronco Nima and Lucien Price, continuing their steady rise as a unit.

Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair scored a notable win against Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, while NXT X-Division Champion Leon Slater defeated Myles Borne, Joe Hendry, and Dion Lennox in a fatal four-way match to earn a future shot at the NXT Championship.

Championship spotlight and tournament action ahead

WWE officially announced that Chelsea Green will defend the WWE Women’s United States Championship against Sol Ruca next week. The title match comes on the heels of Ruca’s statement victory over Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event, positioning her as a legitimate threat.

In addition to the championship bout, WWE will kick off a tournament to determine the next No. 1 contender for the WWE Men’s Speed Championship. Participants have yet to be revealed, adding intrigue to the opening round.

The card will also feature Lola Vice going one-on-one with Izzi Dame, while Stacks and Arianna Grace team up to face Shiloh Hill and Skylar Raye. The episode is being taped on Wednesday and will air next Tuesday.
