Blake Monroe issued an open challenge this week.
The December 9 edition of WWE NXT served as the fallout show for the final PLE from the developmental brand, Deadline, which concluded on December 6, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. The show from the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando featured the aftermath of the PLE.
The newly crowned NXT Champion, Oba Femi, kicked off the show. The segment also involved Ricky Saints, who congratulated the Champion and reminded him that it’s 1-1. Je’Von Evans then arrived with a question about whether he is next in line for the title after winning the Iron Survivor Challenge, and then why should they wait for January?
Femi accepted the challenge, and the two battled for the title in the main event of the show, where Femi pinned Evans to retain the title after an interference by Ricky Saints, who inadvertently helped Femi.
In the first match of the show, Kelani Jordan defeated Jordynne Grace, while Blake Monroe’s Women’s North American title open challenge turned into chaos after the entire locker room arrived to answer it.
Furthermore, Shiloh Hill, in his debut match, pinned Lexis King to announce his arrival. On the other hand, Tony D’Angelo ambushed Ethan Page during the latter’s promo. Sol Ruca defeated Wren Sinclair in singles action and managed to bury the hatchet with Zaria after the match by hugging it out.
NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne confronted the Women’s Iron Survivor winner, Kendal Gray, along with Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. The segment ended with Fatal Influence attacking Grey and Wren Sinclair.
Blake Monroe is set to defend the title against Thea Hail

During the chaos that unfolded during Blake Monroe’s Women’s North American title Open Challenge, Thea Hail attacked Blake from behind and put her in the double wristlock as the Champion tapped and ran out of the ring.
Later in the show, Monroe complained about the attack to GM Ava, who ended up announcing a title match between the two for next week’s WWE NXT.
General Manager Ava also announced that Dion Lennox, Myles Borne, Leon Slater, and Joe Hendry will square off in a No. 1 Contender’s match next week to determine the NXT Champion’s New Year’s Evil opponent, as Evans ‘cashed in’ his title shot on the show.
Additionally, Hank and Tank were interviewed backstage in their return this week. They described their trip as bodacious and said the Belly Boys were ready to make some noise. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) then showed up, and Tank reminded them that they hadn’t forgotten what happened before the Japan trip. Everything added up to a match being set for the following week.
