Roxanne Perez (c) vs Giulia – NXT Women’s Championship
NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez defended her title against Giulia in the first match at the Shrine Expo Hall. This was Perez’s ninth title defense in her second title run, while Giulia was looking to bag her first promotional title.
Both women gave it their all in an amazing match with a lot of back-and-forth action, but none of them were able to dominate the match for a longer time.
In the final moments of the match, Cora Jade showed up to roll Perez back into the ring after a tumble at ringside. However, the referee was having none of it and later removed her from ringside. Giulia hit a Northern Lights Bomb to pin Roxanne and become the new NXT champion.
Cora Jade vs Stephanie Vaquer vs Lola Vice vs Kelani Jordan – #1 Contender’s Match for NXT Women’s North American Championship
Cora Jade, Stephanie Vaquer, Lola Vice, and Kelani Jordan faced off in a Fatal 4-Way match for the right to challenge Fallon Henley for the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
The match showcased how stacked the NXT women’s division is as all four women made sense as challengers for a title. In the final moments of the match, Vaquer cleared out the ring and landed her backbreaker finisher on Jordan to pick the win via pinfall.
Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx) vs Gigi Dolin, Shotzi & Tatum Paxley

NXT Heritage Cup: Lexis King (c) vs Charlie Dempsey
Lexis King defended the NXT Heritage Cup against Charlie Dempsey. King had previously defeated Dempsey to capture the Heritage Cup on the December 24 show. No Quarter Catch Crew was ringside during the match.
In the final moments of the match, a clumsy sequence unfolded after a leapfrog, resulting in an accidental low blow, but King quickly capitalized by landing his finisher to secure the pin and claim victory once again.
Trick Williams (c) vs Oba Femi vs Eddy Thorpe – NXT Championship
NXT Champion Trick Williams defended his title in a triple-threat match against Oba Femi and Eddy Thorpe. Oba Femi earned the title shot by winning the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline 2024. Thorpe was added to the match following the controversial end to his clash against Williams on the December 17th episode of NXT.
The match initially began with just two stars as Thorpe didn’t show up until later when he was taken out at ringside. In the closing sequence, Trick’s attempt to deliver his finisher was foiled when he crashed into a chair wielded by Thorpe.
Femi capitalized on the opportunity and landed his own finisher, Fall From Grace on Williams to bag the win and become the new NXT Champion.
The Rock appears
As promised Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson made his appearance at the Shrine Expo Hall. The Final Boss picked up the mic and said something that was censored, he then promised that the next six minutes would be the best.
Johnson listed his many nicknames, including the People’s Champ, the Most Electric Man in Entertainment, and the Final Boss. He addresses the criticism he received for being harsh on Cody Rhodes. Johnson reiterated his comments from the RAW Netflix debut and praised Cody for carrying the company on his shoulders.
Johnson revealed how others told him not to be nice to Cody or drink tequila with him. ” You can’t be nice to Cody, don’t drink tequila with Cody!”
He emphasizes that ‘The Rock’ is The Final Boss and he is always thinking ahead, urging fans to “know your role, shut your mouth, and enjoy the ride.” The Final Boss revealed that he knew, he was coming to NXT a couple of weeks ago, and revealed that WWE President Nick Khan thought it was a great idea but he didn’t know what to say.
Johnson also talked about his conversation with the General Manager of NXT and his daughter Ava, who told him he’d feel the energy difference between NXT and RAW and stressed the importance of the fans’ energy for the wrestlers to perform.
