WWE NXT Results (January 21, 2025): Tony D'Angelo retains; Corey Graves returns; Roxanne Perez confronts Bayley & more

The 01/21 episode emanated from the Capitol Wrestling Center 

This week’s WWE NXT edition continued the buildup towards the upcoming Vengeance Day PLE. The 01/21 episode of the developmental brand aired live from the Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.

After much speculation and uncertainty, Corey Graves returned to the commentary booth. A total of six matches took place in this week’s episode including three title matches. Former WWE World Champion Bayley also graced the squared ring and similar to last week’s episode collided with Roxanne Perez.

WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and Naomi also appeared via a pre-recorded message for Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend ahead of their title clash next week.

NXT Results & Highlights

Tony D’Angelo (c) vs Ridge Holland – NXT North American Championship

In the first match of the show, North American Champion Tony D’Angelo defended his title against Ride Holland. Due to the involvement of Shawn Spears a a brawl broke outside the ring with the rest of the D’Angelo Family.

Izzy Dame suddenly appeared and superkick Holland which gave D’Angelo the chance to go for the pinfall and retain his title.

Bayley appears

Former WWE World Champion Bayley appeared greeted by the Orlando crowd and addressed the attack by Roxanne Perez on Monday Night Raw last night. NXT Women’s Champion Giulia appeared and revealed how she was inspired by Bayley and the two shared a heartfelt moment.

However, Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade interrupted claiming they were the real role models, and mocked Bayley for the recent two losses. The crowd continued booing hard throughout Perez’s promo which ultimately led to Bayley and Giulia attacking Perez and Jade. Ultimately, Bayley and Giulia stood tall in the ring as Perez and Jade regrouped outside. The brawl resumed and continued throughout the commercial break and backstage as security and General Manager Ava tried to diffuse the situation.

Dion Lennox vs Wes Lee

Wes Lee locked horns with Dion Lennox in the second match of the show and picked up a quick win against Lennox. Lee still had the handprint from the slap gifted to him by Trick Williams.

After the match, Lee picked up the mic and called out Williams for a match next week in Atlanta, Georgia. Williams without wasting any time appears and accepts the challenge.

Lexis King (c) vs Charlie Dempsey -NXT Heritage Cup Match

Lexis King once again locked horns with Charlie Dempsey as he looked to remove the blemishes from the earlier controversial wins against Dempsey. Dempsey’s No Quarter Catch Crew was ringside for the match.

King scores the first fall in the final moments of the second round while Dempsey secures the second fall in the third round. In the end, King repeated the same script as he won the cup by landing a low blow on Dempsey when the official was distracted and secured the win via pinfall.

Karmen Petrovic vs Jaida Parker

Following a backstage brawl, a clash was booked between Karmen Petrovic and Jaida Parker, Karmen was accompanied by Ashante Thee Adonis. In the end, Petrovic secured the win after Kelani Jordan appeared and distracted Parker.

Niko Vance & Brooks Jensen vs Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo & Luca Crusifino

Niko Vance and Brooks Jensen locked horns against the team of Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Luca Crusifino, the two started a brawl before the match even began.

Jensen and Vance were accompanied by Shawn Spears while The Family’s Crusifino and Stacks were without Tony D’Angelo. In the end, Vance and Jenson picked up the win against Stacks and Crusifino.

Oba Femi (c) vs Eddy Thorpe – NXT Championship

The newly crowned NXT Champion Oba Femi defended the title against Eddy Thorpe following last week’s assault. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller) were watching the action closely.

While the challenger had some moments in the match, the champion took over and landed a big powerbomb to bag the win. After the match in the closing moments of the show, former NXT Champion Trick Williams appeared and came face-to-face with Femi.

While Femi and William argued Thrope tricked to attack only to eat a flying knee for his troubles. Williams and Femi resumed their intense face-off and Femi held the title high as the show came to an end.
