Sol Ruca wins the #1 contender match for the NXT Women’s title.
The February 10 episode of WWE NXT kicked off with the newly crowned NXT Champion Joe Hendry’s promo. The Champion was then attacked by Vanity Project, leading to a title match against Jackson Drake later in the show.
Hendry defeated Drake to retain the title in his first defense; however, he was ambushed by Ricky Saints after the match. On the other hand, the first match of the show, between Jaida Parker and Blake Monroe, ended in a no-contest.
Furthermore, Eli Knight defeated Josh Briggs in the Speed Tournament match, while The Vanity Project (Ricky Smokes & Brad Baylor) defeated Hank & Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger).
In the main event of the show, Sol Ruca earned a shot at the NXT Women’s title after she and Zaria defeated Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey in a number one contender’s match, with Ruca scoring the decisive fall to secure the opportunity.
Two number one contenders’ matches have been announced for next week

WWE has confirmed two No. 1 Contender’s Matches for next week, including a Fatal Four-Way bout between The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes), Hank & Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger), OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price), and The Culling (Shawn Spears & Niko Vance).
The winning team will earn a title opportunity against the current Champions, DarkState (Osiris Griffin & Saquon Shugars), at NXT’s Atlanta event on February 24. The match was initially set as a Triple Threat, but The Vanity Project was added after The Vanity Project picked up a victory over Hank & Tank.
On the other hand, the Speed Tournament reaches its climax next week as Elio LeFleur goes head-to-head with Eli Knight in the finals. Furthermore, Lola Vice will battle Kelani Jordan, following the attack by Jordan this week, as the two look to write another chapter in their feud.
In addition, Ethan Page will be defending the NXT North American title against Shiloh Hill, while Tony D’Angelo, in his in-ring return, will take on Cutler James of DarkState.
