WWE NXT (January 27, 2026): NXT title ladder match qualifiers; Tag team titles clash & more set for next week

Following last week’s fallout show of NXT New Year’s Evil, WWE NXT continued its momentum with the January 20, 2026, episode. In the first match of the show, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page defeated Elio LeFleur to retain the title.
In the first Qualifier for the NXT Title Ladder match, Shiloh Hill defeated Josh Briggs. Tony D’Angelo attacked both men after the match. On the other hand, Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes) defeated Chase University (Uriah Connors & Kale Dixon) to pick up their first win as NXT stars.
GM Ava also announced a three-way match for the NXT Women’s North American Championship on February 3, where Izzi Dame would defend the title against Thea Hail and Lola Vice. In the second Qualifier for the NXT Title Ladder match, Sean Legacy defeated Eli Knight.
Additionally, in the main event of the show, Zaruca (Sol Ruca & Zaria) defeated Wren-QCC (Wren Sinclair & Kendal Gray), and Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) in a number-one-contenders match for the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship.
Joe Hendry will compete in the qualifiers next week
During this week’s episode of WWE NXT, three additional qualifying matches were announced for the vacant NXT Championship Ladder Match scheduled for February 3. Andre Chase will take on Keanu Carver in one qualifier, Myles Borne is set to face Dion Lennox in another, and Joe Hendry will go one-on-one with Jackson Drake of Vanity Project in the third.
The winner of these aforementioned matches will join Sean Legacy and Shiloh Hill in the ladder match. Both stars qualified for the match on this week’s show.
In a promo during this week’s show, OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) revealed they will challenge Darkstate (Osiris Griffin and Saquon Shugars) for the NXT Tag Team titles on next week’s episode.
The duo previously assisted Joe Hendry in securing a victory over Dion Lennox in a No Disqualification match last week. Before the show went off the air, the tag team title match was officially confirmed.
