WWE RAW after WrestleMania 40 Results, Highlights & Winners (April 8, 2024): CM Punk ruins Drew McIntyre's World Title dream again

Rock wants Cody, Ilja & Roxanne debuts on Raw, Cena returns, Jey became the #1 Contender and much more!!!
The April 8, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw is officially over and it is the Raw of WrestleMania 40. The show is filled with championship celebration, new challengers, surprise debuts and return. WWE claims this to be the beginning of the New Era & it is the first episode of it. Get to know what happened on Raw as we came out with the complete Raw summary, results, history winners & grades.
WWE Raw Summary & Highlights
Triple H, Cody Rhodes & The Rock
Triple H kicks-off Monday Night Raw to thank the WWE Universe for making it the Greatest WrestleMania ever. He welcomed everyone to the new era and the welcomed the one who will lead us to the new era, Cody Rhodes. Cody made his first World Championship entrance and joined The Game in the ring.
Triple H siad that he wants to make his win special and played a video tape of Cody’s career journey until now. Cody got a bit emotional and hugged Triple H, before he leaves the ring.
Cody laid the WWE Universal title down kissed it. Cody starts in his traditional way saying “What do you wanna talk about” and asked the ring announcer, Samantha Irwin to re-introduce him. Cody shares his journey of promising on the Raw after WrestleMania, two years ago about finishing the story and now achieving it.
He plays her daughters video and says that she is one of those for who he works for it. He said that he acknowledge Roman Reigns for his historical title reign, bur he ended up even more historical. Cody says that he was then Undenaiable and now the Undisputed Champion.
The Rock interfered during Cody’s speech with the People’s Champ. Rock said that he came out to deliver flowers for Cody & announce Philadelphia breaking the gate record for being a trash. Rock addressed Cody finishing the story, handling the title to Mama Rhodes and fulfilling Dusty Rhodes’ dream. Rock said that he wants the Universal title. Cody said that he can hold the title, if he could hold his People’s Champ title. Both exchanged title for a moment.
Rock announced that he needs to go for a while, but will come back for Cody, whether he is champion or not. Rock remembered that Cody might have pinned Roman last night, but Rock pinned him the day before. Rock claimed that his story with Roman would have ended, but their story just getting started. Cody replied that Rock may be the boss, but he is The Boss’ Champion. Rock offered something to Cody before he and said not to break his heart again.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs Ilja Dragunov
Ilja Dragunov made his WWE mainroster debut to face Shinsuke Nakamura in a singles match. Nakamura dominated the initial part of the match with a number of kicks to the head and the back, by countering Dragunov’s move. Dragunov soon changed the momentum to his side with a kick to the face, Powerbomb, H-Bomb, & Torpedo Maskou to secure the debut win in the main roster.
The Judgment Day
Finn Balor, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh were on the ring. Finn took shots on the haters, who thought Rhea Ripley won’t be able to defeat Becky Lynch & Damian Priest can’t successfully cash-in to become the Senor World Champion. Dominik with a loud boo, introduced Rhea Ripley to the stage.
Rhea Ripley said that they almost had a great WrestleMania this year and welcomed everyone to the Judgment Day era. Finn introduced Damian Priest to the ring. Priest spoke about two World Champions in Judgment Day and asked all to raise for The Judgment Day.
While they hold their titles up, R-Truth with the Raw Tag Team Championship joined them. Priest is done with him. Truth claims that he brought the tag team titles to Judgment Day. Miz came out and said that he don’t want to be in Judgment Day. The arguement resulted in Truth challenging Judgment Day for a Six-Man Tag Team Championship. But Awesome Truth doesn’t have the third member. Truth claims, he is invisible and you can’t see him. Before Truth saying another word, Judgment Day attacked them from the back.
Awesome Truth vs The Judgment Day
During the commercial, the match began without the third member in team Awesome Truth. Judgment Day dominated Truth during the initial half, and Miz tried to fight back with some innovative offenses like Corss Body & the Double DDT to Dom & McDonagh.
The Judgment Day however took control with the numbers game by distracting the referee. As Judgment day dominate Awesome Truth, John Cena music was played and he reveal to be Awesome Truth’s tag team partner. Miz tagged Cena & all the three hit Five-knuckle Shuffle & AA to win the match.
Backstage- Liv Morgan attacked Rhea Ripley
Rhea Ripley and Dom discuss about Andrade’s betrayel. While Dom went to talk to Adam Pearce, Liv Morgan arracked Ripley from the back, officials separated them.
Indi Hartwell vs Roxanne Perez
Roxanne Perez made her Raw debut in a match against Indi Hartwell. The match began with Indi tried to offer handshake, but Roxanne slapped her. Roxanne dominated Indi countering her move and with quick offences. Candice tried to help Indi by dragging Roxanne’s leg, but Indi was confused. Rox used the momentum to hit a Pop-Rox (Canadian Destroyer) on Indi to win her debut match.
Sami Zayn, Imperium & Chade Gable
Jey Uso met Sami Zayn backstage and congratulated him for the title win win and Sami wished Jey to win the Fatal Four Way Match Later tonight for the World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender. Sami walked to the ring and addressed his last three big WrestleMania moments. Sami said that he defeated Gunther, because of the WWE Universe and Gable.
Imperium interefered Sami and said that their heart was broken, when Gunther lost the title. They claimed to fix things and surrounded Sami. Chad Gable came for the rescue and it was made into a tag team match.

Sami Zayn & Chad Gable vs Imperium
The match began during the commercial, where Imperium took control of Chad Gable. Sami & Kaiser got tagged in and the momentum slowly shifted, as Gable hit a coule of Crossbody. Gable tried to dominate the mid-match, but the back to back tag from the Imperium took him down. Sami Zayn and Gable then worked as a unit to deliver three German Suplex on Vinci & Kaiser. Vinci tried to fight back, but Sami hit an Exploder Suplex and Helluva Kick, followed by Gable’s German Suplex bridge for the win.
Chelsea Green vs Jade Cargill
Chelsea Green asked Adam Pearce backstage to have her WrestleMania moment, atleast at Raw after WrestleMania. Pearce agreed and gave her the match. Jade Cargill was her mystery opponent. Jade finished her within seconds with a kick to the mid-section and Jaded for the win.
Backstage- Sami Zayn vs Chad Gable
Sami Zayn met Chad Gable backstage and told that he need to do any favor to Gable for having his back. Sami offered a title shot to Gable next week on Raw, in Sami’s hometown Montreal.
Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre walked to the ring with anger and claimed what happened last night was “Bull Sh*t”. He was angry on Damian Priest, but is more angry on CM Punk, who made that happen. Drew looks forward for Punk’s return after injury, so that he could end his career.
#1 Contender’s Fatal Four Way Match- Drew McIntyre vs Jey Uso vs Ricochet vs Bronson Reed
As soon as the match began everyone fought their way out of the ring and Ricochet hit flied over them from the top rope. During the commercial, a Table was set on one corner. Jey Uso and Bronson Reed were fighting inside the ring, where Jey hit a superkick on Reed, Jey tried to break the table by spearing Reed, but Reed caught him and broke the table with a Powerslam. As Reed dominate, he had a face-off with Drew and both exchanged hands.
Towards the end, Ricochet and reed fought outside, where Reed was laid over the announcement table and Ricochet hit a 450 splash from the top rope to break the table.
Inside the ring, Drew tried to Claymore Jey, but, CM Punk came from under the ring and grabbed his leg. Jey hit a superkick, spear and frog splash and became the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.
