Orton wants Gunther’s world title, Reed assaults Rollins, Odyssey Jones debut, New Judgment Day, Wyatt Sicks in-ring debut & more!
The August 05, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw is officially over and it is one of the best shows in recent times. WWE has showcased some of the interesting matches and segments for the show, based on the aftermath of SummerSlam. Get to know what happened this week on WWE Raw, as we came out with the complete match summary, results, winners and grades.
WWE Raw Summary & Highlights
Randy Orton confronts Gunther
Ludwig Kaiser was in the ring and he introduces the new World Heavyweight Champion, “The Ring General” Gunther to the ring. Gunther got cheered up from the WWE Universe. The Ring General wanted to reinstate greatness into the world title. He wanted the WWE Universe to watch, what he gonna do with the title in his shoulders. The Champ claimed that he is over all and nothing can stop him.
Randy Orton‘s music is played and he is out on Raw, Orton claimed that Gunther earned the title match, winning the King of the Ring tourmanent, but he didn’t even pinned him right. Orton claimed that he is calling for a rematch, but this time for the World Heavyweight Championship at Bash in Berlin.
Gunther has respect for Orton, but warned him saying that nobody can do anything to him, especially at Berlin. Orton said that Gunther may be a living legend, but Orton is called as the Legendary Killer. Gunther accepts the match at Berlin. They shook hands and whisper messages in the ears and Orton walked back.
Sheamus vs Ludwig Kaiser
Before Sheamus entered the ring, Ludwig Kaiser attacked him outside the ring. Both brawled ringside and got into the ring to officially begin the match.
Sheamus went for a clothesline and Kaiser fights back with a series of chops. Sheamus gives it back. Kaiser targets Sheamus’ knew and Sheamus targets his ribs. Sheamus delivers a rolling senton and went for the top rope, but Kaiser sneaks out and calls for the medical team. Sheamus tried to attack him, referee seperates, but Kaiser acted to attack Sheamus. Kaiser took a long run and kicked Sheamus’ head to the steel steps.
The Celtic Warrior breaks the count to the ring and Kaiser is punishing him. Sheamus tries fights back, but Kaiser with strike to the knee took him down. Kaiser mocks ten beats to the bodhran and delivers 4, but Sheamus took him down with a clothesline.
While trying to enter the ring, Kaiser took him down again kicking him down. Kaiser trash talks Sheamus and chops him. Sheamus caught him and fights back with a headbutt and took him down with a couple of axe handles and spinebuster. Sheamus delivered a white noise and Kaiser kicks out in 2. Sheamus locks Sheamus with the leglock, submission manuever, but Laisee espaces grabbing the rope. Kaiser delivered a clothesline to take the Irish down. Both slaps and exchamge strikes on each other.
Sheamus hits the ten beats to the bodhran and goes for the top rope to hit a clothesline to Kaiser outside the ring. Pete Dunne tried to attack Sheamus with the Shillelagh, but Sheamus attack Dunne with the knee. Back in the ring, Kaiser delivered a step up enzigiri, and tried for the modified DDT, but Sheamus delivered a knee to the jaw and with the Brogue kick for the win.
Damian Priest called out Finn Balor
Damian Priest was extremely angry on Finn Balor and called him out. Priest said that Balor’s betrayal hurts him more than losing the championship. Priest says that he can call for a rematch for the title and win it anytime, but what Balor done was not acceptable and he wanted to punish Balor.
Balor appeared on the titration and said that everything was good within Judgment Day until Priest won the world title. He started controlling everyone and Priest chose his own destiny. Balor said that he won’t be coming out, but JD McDonagh will. However, he warned him to have his eyes at the back, as not only him, but the entire Judgment Day with Liv Morgan & Carlito will be screwing him over and over.
Lyra Valkyria vs Shayna Baszler
Shayna Baszler went after Lyra Valkyria and lifted her with the hand to slam and stomp her elbow. Valkyria fought back with the takedown and kicks. Lyra went for the top rope, but Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark distracted them. Lyra took them out with a slide kick, but Shayna locked her with a Kirifuda Clutch. Lyra escaped her lock to deliver a Night Wing, but Zoey & Sonya attacked Lyra to end the match. The trio attacked Lyra, but Damage CTRL made the save and forces the new heel trio to retreat.
CM Punk was live / Bronson Reed almost killed Seth Rollins
CM Punk was live and he gave a loud shoutout to Belal Muhammad, who won the UFC Welterweight Championship. Punk said that he lost at SummerSlam, but still happy because he is in Baltimore after 10 years. He said that he is proud to get back in the ring, after suffering an injury within five months. Punk called for a rematch with Drew McIntyre, as he is still breathing and alive.
Seth Rollins interrupted Punk and they tried to strike on each other. Drew popped out among WWE Universe to cut a promo and trigger Punk. He showed his bracelet and took shots at his dog and his wife. Punk heard enough and went chasing Drew, but he left the building.
Inside the ring, Bronson Reed attacked Seth Rollins with a rolling senton and two Tsunamis. The officials came out to stop him, however nobody can stop him. Reed delivered a total of six Tsunamis and made Rollins caugh blood.
The New Day vs Authors of Pain
Kofi Kingston & Akam started the match, where Kofi delivered an elbow strike and super kick. Akam delivered a spine buster to Kofi. The AOP took control of Kofi, but Woods tagged in and got fired up. He took Rezar and Akam with a super kick and went for the top rope. Kofi took Rezar out of the ring, and Kross pulled Woods to the ropes. Odyssey Jones made his debut, taking out Kross.
Woods used the distraction to rolldown for the win. After the match, AOP attacked Woods, but Jones took both Akam & Rezar with a side slam and slammed Karrion Kross to align with Kofi and Xavier.
A-Town Down Under vs Awesome Truth
Austin Theory & R-Truth started the match, and Truth took complete control. Waller tried to involve, but Truth sent them down with the help of Miz. After the commercial, Waller and Theory tried to take down Truth, but he tagged Miz. The A-Listed got fired up and took both with Yes Trickes. Miz hit Theory with a DDT and delivered a Crossbody. Truth blind tagged him and took Theory to the shoulders for AA, but Miz is accidentally knocked out. Theory used the momentum to perform A-Town Down to Truth and pinned him.
Backstage Interview
Bron Breakker in interviewed about the IC title win and the potential challengers for the title. Breakker claims that he is a hunter and gonna hunt people down. He showcase his name on the title and said that nobody can take his name from the title.
Damian Priest vs JD McDonagh
JD McDonagh escaped Priest’s swing to slap and chop him, but Priest took him with a big book and took full control of the match. Priest tossed JD all around the corner and delivered the big right hand. However when Priest bumped his head to the ring post McDonagh took control.
JD gave a right hand and chopped him, but Priest striked back with the big right hand and kicks him out of the ring. Carlito tries to help JD, but Priest chases him. Priest took JD to his shoulders and tries to drive his head to the ring post, but JD escape to hit Priest face first to the post and delivered a suicide dive.
After the commercial, Priest smashes JD’s ears. JD took Priest with a headbutt and looks for his signature suplex, but Priest took JD down. Priest is fired up and he took JD out. Priest pushes Priest to the announcement table, took him to the ring for a vicious clothesline.
Priest looks for a South of Heaven Chokeslam, but Judgment Day attacked Priest. The number games didn’t stop Priest, as he took everyone down. Priesr caught Finn for a Razers edge, but Liv saved him. Dom attacked him from the back. Liv and Dom attack Priest and Rhea Ripley came for the save.
Rhea hit Liv face first to the ring post and tried top powerbomb her over the announcement table, but Dom saved her. JD fights Priest, but Ripley with a headbutt and Priest delivered a South of Heaven Chokeslam to make the statement. Priest and Ripley stood tall.
Sonya Deville vs Iyo Sky
Sonya Deville and her crew took Dakota Kai before the match, which made IYO SKY replace her teammate. The match began with Deville taking control. When Sky tried to fight back, Zoey grabbed her legs to stop. SKY slide kicked her and took Shayna down, but Sonya sent her to the steel steps to regain control.
After the commercial, Sonya took Sky to the ring a to hit a knee to the face and looks to spear her in the corner, but she hit her shoulder to the ring post. Sky delivered a crockscrew, double kneed to the corner and a drop kick from the top turbuckle.
Deville hit a big knee and a running knee for a nearfall. IYO fights back with a stomp and double knees, but Zoey puts her leg to the ropes. Kairi took Zoey and Shayna. Both Kairi and Sky went for the top rope, Kairi hit insane elbow on Baszler, Sky delivered a moonsault on Zoey and Deville. Back in the ring, Sky delivered a moonsault to Sonya and picked up the win.
Backstage
Ilja Dragunov motivates Sami Zayn to recapture the title. Jey met Sami to get his rematch and recapture the title. They also look to handle unfinished business with Judgment Day and get the tag titles too.
Chad Gable & Creed Brothers vs The Wyatt Sicks
Dexter Lumis and Chad Gable started the match, but Gable in fear tagged Julius in. Dexter Lumis takes Julius down and tags Joe Gacy in. Gacy took Julius down and Lumis is tagged in. Gable blind attacked Lumis from the back. The trio looks to target Lumis, but the Wyatts attacked them. Gable is sent out and Rowan slams Julius over Brutus. The trio work as a unit and assisted Lumis to fly over them.
After the commercial, Gable took Gacy in control. The trio work together and delivered three moonsault to Gacy. The Creeds sent Gacy to the ropes, but Gacy took them with with a double clothesline. Rowan got the tage and he took down everyone single handedly.
Rowan tosses Gable hit a slide kick, delivered a rolling senton and a throw down. Creed Brothers breaks the pin and took Rowan with a running knee. Gacy tried to fight back, but they toom Gacy out. Lumis jumoed from the top rope on them, outside the ring.
Inside the ring, Gable delivered a German Suplex on Rowan. Gable asks Creeds for help, but Wyatts stood up. They took Creeds with a slam to the announcement table. Inside the rin, Rowan delivered a chokeslam, Gacy powebombed Lumis over Gable. Lumis performed a frog splash and pinned Gabke for the win.

- Randy Orton confronted Gunther and they agreed to a world championship match at Bash in Berlin.
- Sheamus defeated Ludwig Kaiser by pinfall.
- Lyra Valkyria vs Shayna Baszler ended in a disqualification, after Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark attacked Lyra.
- Bronson Reed assaulted Seth Rollins with six Tsunamis.
- The New Day defeated The Authors of Pain, Odyssey Jones made his debut aligning with New Day.
- Austin Theory & Grayson Waller defeated The Miz & R-Truth.
