WWE RAW Results (December 09, 2024): Drew McIntyre attacks Sami Zayn again; Rhea Ripley wins; New match confirmed for Saturday Night's Main Event

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw will take place in the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, U.S.A. The 12/09 episode of the Red brand features an exciting triple threat match as WWE kicks off the Women’s Intercontinental title tournament.

The Stamford-based promotion will also keep building a storyline for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event where Gunther will defend his Heavyweight crown against Finn Balor and Liv Morgan will defend her Women’s World title against Iyo Sky.

The episode might also feature the new transfer window which was teased during the 12/06 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The episode featured two stars from the Red brand including the Heavyweight champion.

The 12/09 episode of WWE Raw will feature many top stars from the Red brand including, CM Punk, Gunther, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, Damian Priest, Liv Morgan, The New Day, and Drew McIntyre.

• Lyra Valkyria vs Zelina Vega vs Ivy Nile – Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament (1st Round)
• The Wyatt Sicks vs Final Testament & The Miz – 8-Man Tag Team Match

Rhea Ripley vs Raquel Rodriguez

After a dominant win over Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley is now looking to settle her score with Raquel Rodriguez. The two stars are scheduled to face each other on the 12/09 episode.

The match was made official after their clash in the 12/06 episode where Raquel emerged on top. Raquel and Morgan attacked Damage CTRL (Iyo Sky & Kairi Sane) after their tag match. Ripley came to the aid of Damage CTRL and clashed with Morgan and Raquel.

Morgan rushed out of the ring as Ripley came in and clashed with Raquel, the two started brawling but Rodriguez got the better in the exchange as she slammed Ripley into the announcer’s desk. Ripley crashed face-first on the edge of the desk, as Raquel targeted the recent orbital bone injury.

Lyra Valkyria vs Zelina Vega vs Ivy Nile – Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament (1st Round)

In the second match of the first round of the newly introduced Intercontinental Championship, Lyra Valkyria will lock horns with Zelina Vega and Ivy Nile in a triple-threat match.

The winner of the triple threat action in Kansas will advance into the semi-finals of the tournament. The first match took place on the 12/02 episode of Monday Night Raw in Everett, Washington, with Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler, and Katana Chance competing for a chance to advance. 

Dakota Kai won the first match of the tournament against Baszler and Katana Chance and has advanced to the semi-finals.

The Wyatt Sicks vs Final Testament & The Miz – 8-Man Tag Team Match

In a highly anticipated eight-man tag team match, The Wyatt Sicks will battle Final Testament and The Miz. The two factions have been in conflict for weeks, and this confrontation is set to intensify their heated rivalry. The Miz’s alliance with The Final Testament adds an interesting twist to the evolving storyline.

On last month’s Survivor Series go-home show, Nikki Cross attacked Scarlett and sent a message to Final Testament. Karrion Kross vowed to take revenge from the Wyatt Sicks for the attack as he sent a warning to the faction on the 12/02 episode.

Kross stated that while the Wyatt Sicks had started the fire, they would soon burn in it themselves. The two factions will now collide to settle their differences in the Intrust Bank Arena.
