WWE RAW Results & Winners (January 13, 2025): Penta debuts; Lyra Valkyria wins; matches announced for SNME & Damian Priest decimates Finn Balor

Sheamus defeats Ludwig Kaiser, Nia Jax appears, Sami Zayn wins & more!
After delivering the historic debut episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix, the Stamford-based promotion continued producing stacked cards for their regular programming.
The January 13th episode marked the second installment of the Red brand in 2025. The 01/13 episode of the Red brand was aired live from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. A total of four matches were announced for the show including the finals of the Women’s IC title tournament.

WWE Raw Summary and Highlights
CM Punk
“The Best in the World” made his way toward the ring and was greeted by the crowd. Punk picked up the mic and stepped into the ring amid “CM Punk!” chants. The Second City Saint professed his love for the San Jose crowd and acknowledged the first responders and firefighters for their service amid the LA Wildfires.
Punk asked if the crowd had watched him defeat the Messiah last week and stated that one thing not on his plate after last week was Seth Rollins. He reflected on his injury from last year’s Royal Rumble PLE and revealed that he thought his career was getting away.
The Second City Saint took a shot at John Cena and stated that he could see him and always had been. Punk then stated that Cena had announced his entry to the Rumble and he had too. The Second City Saint announced his entry into the Royal Rumble.
Seth Rollins’ music hit as the Visionary appeared in the ring. Punk was visibly irked as he asked why it couldn’t be Rhea Ripley interrupting him.
Seth Rollins – Drew McIntyre – CM Punk segment
Rollins stepped into the ring as Punk was near the ring post. The Visionary picked up the mic, and Punk stepped back into the ring. The two fierce rivals stood face to face again as Rollins stated that he had promised earlier that, win, lose, or draw, he would be standing in the ring, and he was a man of his word.
Rollins took a shot at Punk again and stated that he would rather be the worst version of himself than any version of CM Punk. The Visionary revealed that last week’s loss was the worst of his career because he had underestimated him.
Rollins revealed that he would spoil Punk’s dream and take his spot at WrestleMania. Rollins announced his entry into the 2025 Royal Rumble and promised to dump Punk outside the ring.
Drew McIntyre’s music hit as Punk got even more frustrated due to the interruptions. The Scottish Warrior picked up the mic and went off on the Second City Saint, who reminded him that the last time he saw Drew, he was begging for his life on his knee.
Punk warned McIntyre that if he took one step, he would need stitches. Drew clarified that he was talking to Rollins, not him.
Rollins stated that if he were talking to him, he would do the same. McIntyre revealed that the two were the same. McIntyre reminded Rollins that he was only worried about his agenda because he hadn’t done his part in stopping Roman Reigns the previous night.
Rollins and Punk got into a heated exchange and prepared to throw hands. McIntyre asked if they wanted to throw hands and moved toward the ring.
Drew started walking back and said that he was always the reluctant hero and would stand up for the locker room. The Scottish Warrior announced his entry into the 2025 Royal Rumble PLE!
Chad Gable vs Penta
The bell rang as Penta stared at Gable, and the crowd went wild as Gable called the luchador on. Penta asked if he wanted to face the best luchador, and Gable wasted no time, attacking the newly debuted WWE star. Fast-paced action ensued in the SAP Center as the crowd once again erupted in ‘Penta’ chants.
Gable was on the top rope as ‘You Suck!’ chants filled the arena. Penta countered with a leg kick and followed it up by swinging in the air, landing a double kick on Gable’s chest. Gable continued to punish Penta, who cried in pain. Another back suplex followed, and Gable went for the cover. Penta kicked out at two.
Penta limped on his injured leg but rallied for a suicide dive, taking Chad out outside the ring. Penta landed a backstabber and went for the cover, but Gable kicked out at two as the match continued. The Mexican sensation rallied the crowd and attacked Gable, who countered with a German suplex. Another cover, but Penta kicked out!
In the final moments, Penta measured Gable for the finish and rallied the crowd behind him. The Luchador went for the attack, but Gable attacked and locked in the ‘Ankle Lock.’
Penta turned it around and locked in the armbreaker. Penta followed ‘The Sacrifice’ up with the Penta Driver. One, Two, Three!! Penta won the debut clash against Chad Gable.
After the match, Jackie Redmond stepped into the ring to interview Penta. Jackie asked what this moment felt like for him debuting tonight. Penta picked up the mic and thanked the San Jose crowd, stating that this was his new home!
The Mexican sensation revealed that he had been waiting for this moment and addressed the Mexican crowd in his native language. Penta stated that he knew it was a new era and not just the Netflix new era, but it was the Penta new era!
Backstage
Finn Balor, Carlito, and JD McDonagh were in the Judgment Day locker room when Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez walked in. Morgan asked if they were talking about her, and Morgan and Balor continued to throw shade at each other.
Balor then stated that “the love birds” had to sort things out. Dominik apologized to Morgan for his actions last week. Morgan stated that she was not mad and ordered Dirty Dom to do her chores, throwing the bouquet given by Dirty Dom toward Carlito before leaving.
Dirty Dom stated that Morgan wasn’t mad, as Carlito remarked that he had a lot to learn. Balor stated that he would end Damian Priest for good tonight and then he and McDonagh would get their tag titles back from the War Raiders.
McDonagh stated that he would go talk to Adam Pearce to open up a slot for him and Balor. Carlito and McDonagh left as Balor told Dirty Dom to stay back and sort out his issues with Morgan.
Sheamus vs Ludwig Kaiser
The bell rang as the Celtic Warrior launched the attack on Kaiser. The two stars exchanged shots ringside as Sheamus lined Kaiser up for the legendary ten shots. Kaiser countered and dropped Sheamus onto the announce table.
Kaiser followed it up with a running double kick as the action rolled into the commercials. Sheamus took Kaiser to the top rope and landed the White Noise for the cover, but Kaiser stayed in it!
Kaiser picked up the shillelagh and tried to attack, but the Celtic Warrior fired back with a running knee. Another cover, but Ludwig kicked out.
Sheamus looked for the finish as he called for the Brogue Kick, and Kaiser fired back. The match continued. Kaiser landed a running senton, another cover, but Sheamus kicked out as the IC Champion, Bron Breakker, witnessed the action ringside. Kaiser missed wildly with the kick, and Sheamus landed the Brogue Kick, going for the cover.
The Celtic Warrior picked up the win against Kaiser and celebrated his victory with Pat McAfee. Sheamus and Bron Breakker came face to face as things got heated, and Breakker pushed Sheamus away.
Backstage
Cath Kelley caught up with Seth Rollins and asked him to talk about his conversation with General Manager Adam Pearce. Kelley also revealed that Rollins would face Drew McIntyre next week!
Rollins stated that next week would be fun, as McIntyre had been bugging him for a long time. Rollins finished the interview when he ran into Sami Zayn and stated that he had heard how hard Zayn’s loss was last week, offering to be there if Rollins wanted to talk.
Rollins replied that last week was tough for him, but it was an amazing week for him. Zayn, confused, asked what Rollins meant.
Rollins stated that Reigns got the Ula Fala back and asked Sami if he would help Roman get the title back from Cody Rhodes. Rollins asked Zayn when he was going to help himself and left, leaving Zayn lost in his thoughts.
The Miz was waiting outside Adam Pearce’s office when Karrion Kross appeared and stated that Wyatt Sicks had been moved to Friday Night SmackDown. He added that if the Miz had anything to do with it, he would take care of him.
Sami Zayn appeared and asked if Adam Pearce was available, to which Kross nodded. Kross stated that he had listened to Zayn’s chat with Seth Rollins and found it amusing, as Miz joined in ridiculing Zayn.
Zayn fired back, and Miz reminded him that he had been a world champion twice. Zayn stated that he had to talk to Adam and might ask for a match against Miz tonight! The Miz stated that it looked like they would have to deal with Zayn tonight. Kross asked, “We?” smirkingly before leaving.
Gunther – Jey Uso segment
The Ring General stated that he had witnessed last week’s Raw debut on Netflix and was impressed by the spectacle, but when it came to the performances, he was disappointed.
Gunther stated that the only prize worth fighting for was the World Heavyweight Championship. Just then, Jey Uso’s music hit as he darted into the arena.
Jey asked if Gunther wanted someone to care for the World Heavyweight title and stated that the Ring General was looking at him. Jey stated that the drama with Drew and the Bloodline was behind him and floated the idea of a clash between the two for the title at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Gunther started laughing and asked if Jey was serious about this. Jey replied with a “Yeet!” The Ring General admired the courage and stated that it was naive of Jey to think he was the guy who could take the title from him.
Gunther reminded Jey that he had beaten him twice when they fought for the IC title. He stated that when the bell rang, he would remind Jey that he was just a great “tag team wrestler” and that for Jey, “Main Event” was a nickname, but for him, it was a place where he belonged.
Gunther concluded by stating that Saturday Night’s Main Event was fine for him, but the choice was on Jey. Jey revealed that he respected Gunther and admitted that everything coming out of his mouth was true Gunther was better than him.
He confessed that he had been scared of doing it all the time but was still trying to earn respect. Jey declared that he would defeat Gunther for the title at Saturday Night’s Main Event!
Lyra Valkyria vs Dakota Kai – WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament Finals
The bell rang as the IC title finals got underway. Kai and Valkyria exchanged shots, with Valkyria taking the action outside and driving Kai onto the ring apron. Lyra went for the suicide dive, but Kai intercepted and landed her own offense.
Lyra dropped Kai with a suplex on the concrete floor ringside as we went into commercials! In the closing moments of the match, Lyra picked up Kai, who countered with a kick and followed it up with a stomp to the neck.
Dakota landed the GTK on Lyra and went for the cover, but Lyra smartly rolled out of the ring as Kai tried to catch her.
Kai brought Lyra back into the ring and went for another kick, but Valkyria countered with her own offense and finished the match with the Nightwing. One, Two, Three!! Lyra Valkyria became the inaugural Women’s Intercontinental Champion!!
The Miz vs Sami Zayn
The bell rang as the Miz took control of the clash early, landing multiple kicks and dropping Zayn with a left hook.
The Miz showboated in front of the crowd, mocking the San Jose fans, but Zayn capitalized, landing a clothesline and following it up by pummeling the Miz’s face.
Zayn went for the attack, but Miz answered with a big boot to the face and landed a DDT for the cover. Zayn kicked out. Miz went for the attack again, but Zayn landed the Helluva Kick out of nowhere and followed it up with a Blue Thunder Bomb. One, Two, Three!! Sami Zayn pinned the Miz to bag the win at the SAP Center.
Rhea Ripley – Nia Jax – Bayley segment
The newly crowned Women’s World Champion was greeted with loud cheers from the San Jose crowd. Ripley picked up the mic and announced that ‘Mami’ was back on top, reminding everyone that she was the most dominant woman in WWE.
Nia Jax’s music hit as the former WWE Women’s Champion appeared on Monday Night Raw. Jax started to speak as the San Jose crowd erupted in boos. She stated that she had been backstage talking to Adam Pearce about the transfer window but couldn’t stop herself from talking to Mami.
Jax declared that she would be winning the Royal Rumble and would take whatever title she wanted. She sent a warning shot at Tiffany Stratton, Rhea Ripley, and Bayley.
Jax then blasted the “nasty town” of San Jose and declared that she was on top of the division. Bayley had heard enough as she climbed the barricade and stepped into the ring, confronting Nia Jax.
Jax pushed Bayley hard as she came face to face with Ripley, who headbutted her. Jax fired back with her own headbutt, but Bayley retaliated as she teamed up with Ripley to take out Jax. Rhea and Bayley embraced each other as Jax retreated backstage.
The promotion announced two title matches for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event which will be held on January 25 in San Antonio, Texas. Gunther will defend the World Heavyweight title against Jey Uso while Bron Breakker will clash with Sheamus with his Intercontinental title on the line.
Damian Priest vs Finn Balor – Street Fight
Finn Balor’s music hit as Damian Priest awaited his entry, but Balor ambushed him with a kendo stick. Balor continued the attack with the kendo stick, but Priest caught it and returned the favor, attacking Finn with the same kendo stick.
The match moved outside as Balor bounced Priest’s head off the table. Balor went for a splash from the ring apron, but Damian caught him and launched Balor through the announcer’s desk.
Damian Priest brought in tables as Balor attacked, landing a splash on the commentary desk and then pushing Priest over the barricade. Priest picked Balor up and dropped him onto the barricade. Balor then took the action into the crowd stands, attacking Damian with a steel chair.
The match continued in the crowd stands as Balor attacked with a trash can, but Priest fired back with a knee and followed it up with the trash can. The two exchanged shots in the stands.
Priest picked up Balor and delivered a suplex through a table from the top of the crowd stands. The crowd erupted in “Holy Shit!” chants as officials rushed to check on both stars.
Back from the commercials, Finn Balor was being wheeled out of the arena on a stretcher, with Carlito and JD McDonagh checking on their stablemate. Damian Priest darted outside the ring, dumping Carlito and McDonagh onto the LED board. He then stared at Balor before starting to beat him up.
Priest rolled the stretcher, causing Balor to crash directly into the ring. Damian landed a wicked clothesline and called for the finish. Priest went for the South of Heaven, but Carlito and McDonagh stepped in to attack Priest. McDonagh landed a moonsault from the top rope on Priest, then picked up Balor and put him on top.
Balor climbed and landed the Coup de Grâce. McDonagh placed Balor on top for the cover, but Priest somehow kicked out at two. McDonagh and Carlito brought out a table. War Raiders’ music hit as Erik and Ivar rushed in to aid Damian Priest, with the tag team champions quickly taking control of the action and taking out Carlito and McDonagh outside the ring.
Back inside the ring, Balor landed a Swingblade and started punishing Priest with a steel chair. Balor put Priest on the steel chair and attacked with another, locking the chair onto Damian’s neck. Balor went for the attack, but Priest landed the South of Heaven with the chair strapped around his neck.
Damian went for the cover, but Balor kicked out at two! Priest went for the Razor’s Edge through the table, but Finn countered with a Swingblade. Balor landed the devastating Coup de Grâce through the table on Priest.
Finn picked up Damian, who retaliated by driving Balor through the barricade into the timekeeper’s area. Priest sent Balor through a table as the crowd erupted in cheers. The action was back inside the ring as Damian prepared for the finish.
Priest went for the South of Heaven, yelling that he was not his brother’s keeper. One, Two, Three!! Damian Priest pinned Finn Balor in the Street Fight!
