The speculations of WWE rumors are one of the most favorite pastimes for WWE fans around the globe. Fans love to discuss and debate many facets of the pro wrestling game.
Following the debut episode of Monday Night Raw, rumors are rife regarding the return of multiple top stars who have been out of action for various reasons.
In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we cover the latest rumors among fans, including whispers about Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair’s returns, Netflix revealing the debut episode viewership numbers for Monday Night Raw, WWE’s reaction to Hulk Hogan’s negative reception, and more.
Update on Alexa Bliss’ comeback
Multi-time WWE World Champion, Alexa Bliss has been absent from the squared ring since 2023. Bliss’ last appearance in the Stamford-based promotion was during the Royal Rumble 2023 PLE where she battled the then WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair.
After months of teases and speculations, a recent report from WrestleVotes has revealed that Alexa’s return is near as the WWE Creative team has started factoring her into future plans. Merchandise and promotional items featuring Alexa Bliss are also already in the works as per the reports.
Travis Scott update
WWE is said to have “major plans” for Travis Scott in the future, according to Wrestlevotes Backstage Pass.
Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair WWE return
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are listed on the WWE’s internal active roster ahead of their return. The reports have also shed light on the brands the two stars will join.
“We’re told both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair names now officially appear on the current internal active roster once again.
As of early this week, we can say that Becky Lynch is set to return on the Raw brand, while Charlotte will make her home on Friday night. So a little status quo there.”
Lynch has been absent from the Stamford-based promotion since her contract expired in June 2023 while Flair was recovering from an injury. Flair‘s last appearance was against Asuka on the December 8 episode of Friday Night SmackDown where she suffered a severe knee injury involving a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus.
WWE frustrated with negative reception over Hulk Hogan’s return
According to WrestleVotes, WWE plans to limit Hulk Hogan’s live appearances, instead utilizing him for pre-recorded content such as commercials and documentary interviews.
This unsurprisingly is the reaction to the negative reception the Hall of Famer received during his segment at the debut episode of Raw on Netflix.
Fightful Select has been told by WWE sources the same thing, “many” in the company are unhappy that the negative reception to Hogan’s segment became a huge talking point coming out of the historic debut episode. WWE will “probably consider the context in which Hogan is used moving forward.”
Netflix reveals Raw debut episode numbers
The Stamford-based promotion along with Netflix has released a press release revealing the numbers for the historic debut episode of Monday Night Raw which emanated from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
According to the press release, the debut episode of the Red brand on Netflix had 4.9 Million live views globally and was watched by 2.6 Million fans in the United States. The streaming giant defines global views as “total view hours for the program divided by the runtime”.
The numbers are 116% higher than Red brand’s average of 1.2 million households in 2024. Furthermore, it had the highest viewership for any other episode of the show in the past five years.
Mark Henry reacts to Hulk Hogan being booed on Raw
As mentioned earlier, Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan was mercilessly booed by fans at the Intuit Dome during his segment promotion of his new venture as well as the Red brand’s transition to Netflix.
During his conversation with TMZ, WWE legend Mark Henry reacts to the negative reception Hogan received during the debut episode. Henry claimed he was unsurprised by Hogan’s WWE return, citing Hogan’s lack of effort to make amends after his 2015 racist scandal.
“Any time that you consider the Mount Rushmore and the top 10 of wrestling all-time, Hogan is always gonna be in that top 10. But right now with the social climate and the things that he’s said and done, and his lack of effort to try to fix it, people are gonna come down on him.” Henry stated.
“I never had an issue with him before I heard all of the stuff, and even then I believe in giving second chances. Anybody that knows me knows that I’m a ‘fix it’ person. I’m not gonna dwell on the negative. I’m not gonna talk about the past. We’re going forward. And he never wanted to go forward and fix it. So, that’s what happens when you think that everything’s gonna go away. It’s not gonna go away.
…he thinks it’s gonna go away, that it’s not gonna be that dark cloud over his career. You know, I offered to say hey let’s do a tour of the Black colleges and explain what happened. He didn’t want to do that.” Henry added.
