According to Fightful Select, Brock Lesnar is currently expected to be part of this year’s SummerSlam, and that plan has reportedly been in place since the beginning of the year.

Lesnar’s most recent appearance came during the men’s Royal Rumble match, where he entered the match at number 22 and lasted for about five minutes before being eliminated by LA Knight and Cody Rhodes.

The 2026 edition of SummerSlam is scheduled to take place as a two-night event on August 1 and 2, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

During the Royal Rumble 2026 post-show conference, chants of “We want Vince” and “You fked up” were aimed at WWE CCO Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque. However, Levesque didn’t acknowledge the chants and continued.

Now, a report from Fightful has shed some light on the backstage reaction to the chants. Sean Ross Sapp reported that there has been no backstage response within WWE to the crowd chanting for Vince McMahon. While speaking during a Fightful Select Q&A session, Sapp discussed the situation and explained how WWE viewed the reaction.

“Well, Triple H didn’t want to be in a room full of media, and this was what he got instead,” Sapp noted.

Crowd lighting at Royal Rumble

According to reports, WWE is not believed to be planning a repeat of the large-scale LED seating design that was used at the 2026 Royal Rumble for future events in Saudi Arabia.

For the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, the company built a temporary outdoor stadium in less than a month at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, and incorporated extensive LED lighting throughout the seating sections to elevate the overall presentation.

However, it only backfired as the lights made the stadium look noticeably empty on television, despite a packed crowd in the arena.

WWE sources told PWInsider that roughly 25,000 tickets were issued for the event. One source added that the company does not expect to bring back the LED seating setup for future Saudi Arabia shows, explaining that the effect translated much better live than it did on television.

Cory Hays of Bodyslam reports that there will be news regarding NXT Vengeance Day during the February 3 edition of NXT, which will feature three title clashes.
