Fightful Select reported that some within WWE felt Drew McIntyre “needed to win this match” in order to be “taken seriously as a top star going forward.”
McIntyre had suffered multiple title losses to Cody leading into last week’s Three Stages of Hell match, causing many fans to lose interest in the feud. His victory not only alters Drew’s trajectory but also opens the door to several new storyline opportunities heading into WrestleMania.
Leon Slater on European tour & MCMG
PW Insider reports that the promotion has shown interest in featuring TNA’s X-Division Champion Leon Slater during the UK portion of their European tour.
The outlet also reports that the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) are scheduled to work this coming weekend’s AAA tapings.
