Recent speculation linking Chris Jericho to an appearance on this week’s WWE SmackDown has been firmly shut down by a new report. With SmackDown and Saturday Night’s Main Event heading to Montreal, rumors quickly spread that Jericho could surface in his home country amid ongoing discussion about his wrestling future.

According to PWInsider, those rumors are unfounded. Jericho is scheduled to perform at JAMM Night on Friday in Los Angeles, a free concert tied to the National Association of Music Merchants event. He is also expected to remain at the NAMM convention throughout the weekend, ruling him out of both SmackDown and Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Jericho continues to be listed on the All Elite Wrestling roster and has stayed publicly silent regarding any potential WWE return.

NJPW legend Evil might head to WWE

A major name from New Japan Pro-Wrestling could be preparing for a major career shift, as former IWGP Heavyweight Champion EVIL is now strongly rumored to be WWE-bound. Following Wrestle Kingdom 20 at the Tokyo Dome, reports began circulating that EVIL may be exploring options outside NJPW as his current run with the company appears to be nearing its end.

According to Fightful Select, EVIL has been considering life beyond New Japan, with WWE emerging as a potential destination. That speculation gained further traction when Bryan Alvarez stated on Wrestling Observer Live that EVIL is “strongly rumored” to be on his way out of NJPW and heading to WWE.

Despite his decorated resume, EVIL’s House of Torture-heavy match style has drawn criticism, reportedly limiting interest from All Elite Wrestling. If the move materializes, EVIL would become the latest NJPW star to potentially cross over to WWE amid increased global talent recruitment.

New name for Powerhouse Hobbs

WWE has reportedly filed a new trademark that could signal a potential rebrand for an incoming superstar. According to Fightful, WWE submitted a trademark application for the ring name “Royce Keys” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on January 20.

As of now, WWE has not confirmed who the name is intended for. However, speculation has emerged due to ongoing reports that Powerhouse Hobbs is believed to be signed with the company. While the timing of the filing has fueled that theory, there is currently no direct evidence linking Hobbs to the Royce Keys name.

The trademark broadly covers wrestling performances, live and broadcast entertainment, digital media, online content, fan engagement, and promotional services. Until WWE assigns the name on television or through official channels, the filing should be viewed as precautionary rather than definitive.

Is Chris Jericho returning to WWE soon?

As of now, Chris Jericho is not expected to appear on WWE programming. Reports indicate he has prior commitments, and he remains listed on the AEW roster with no confirmed WWE return date.

Is NJPW’s EVIL really heading to WWE?

EVIL is strongly rumored to be exploring options outside New Japan Pro-Wrestling, with WWE mentioned as a possible destination. However, no deal has been officially confirmed.
