Jordynne Grace signs with WWE

According to a report from Fightful Select, Former TNA star, Jordynne Grace has signed a multi-year deal with the Stamford-based promotion. Grace recently took part in her last match at TNA Genesis 2025 PPV and bid farewell to the Nashville-based promotion.

Update on AJ Styles

‘The Phenomenal One’ AJ Styles made a surprise return to WWE on Friday Night SmackDown after a three-month absence, but his comeback was short-lived as he suffered an ankle injury on his first night back, forcing him out of action once again and he has been out of action since October 2024.

According to a recent report from PWInsider, WWE is optimistic that AJ Styles will be cleared in time for the Royal Rumble, as he is already slated to appear in Indianapolis for the event.

Update on John Cena

John Cena made an appearance on the Monday Night Raw debut episode on Netflix to kick off his farewell tour. Cena also announced his entry into the 2025 Royal Rumble match. However, Cena has been absent from WWE programming since the January 6 appearance.

According to PWInsider, Cena has not made any appearance since the debut show because he has been in Budapest, Hungary, and is filming the Matchbox movie.

Tag Team push for Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez

Liv Morgan lost the Women’s World title against Rhea Ripley on the debut episode of the Red brand. The loss also ended the storyline between Morgan and Ripley. A new report has now revealed the promotion’s plans for Morgan ahead of WrestleMania.

According to PWInsider, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez are reportedly in line for a significant push as a tag team heading into WrestleMania 41. Raquel made her return last year and joined the Judgment Day as Morgan’s enforcer.

Closure of transfer window

During the 01/27 episode of Monday Night Raw, Michael Cole on the commentary booth announced that Zelina Vega will be transferred to SmackDown and the 01/27 show is her last appearance on the Red brand.

Cole also provided a major update regarding the transfer window as he revealed that the transfer window will close over the Royal Rumble weekend.

Asuka’s return

Asuka has been absent from WWE programming since May 2024, the former multi-time champion suffered a legitimate knee injury & underwent knee surgery.

Fightful Select now reports that WWE has begun brainstorming creative ideas for Asuka’s impending return. Although the initial plans included a potential tag team match, that concept has been abandoned.

The report also adds that details regarding Asuka’s return timeline, training status, and potential Royal Rumble involvement remain unclear.

Ilja Dragunov spotted at the WWE Performance Center

Ilja Dragunov’s main roster run has abruptly halted due to an injury and he has been sidelined since September. Dragunov suffered a torn ACL during a live event and has been absent from action ever since.

As per Fightful, Dragunov has been spotted at the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando in full gear but it is unclear if he’s actively training or simply being evaluated. Fightful also adds that Dragunov’s return timeline is still unclear.
